Cherokee Auto Sales Scam, bad business, lemon cars, Acworth Georgia

I'm an 18 year old girl looking for a car I can drive For school. I dont have any credit so I thought if I went to a smaller place I would have a better chance of getting a car. I looked around for a few months got my heart set on a car and went to go buy it after I got a call from cherokee auto sales saying I was approved I brought my mom with me and we went to go look at the car. When we got there they told us the car is on the lift. It was on the lift and I was told they would have it done in two days. They never contacted me about the car three days later. I called them to ask about the car. They told me it was broken into And someon told me the radio was stolen.

I asked if I could get the car anyways because I wanted to put in my own system. They said yes and we went to go look at the car the next day. My mom and I went back the next day and went for a test drive and it was loud. Other than that the car seemed ok. No engine problems. Or transmission problems. We got back and I signed the papers and I paid a thousand dollars down. When the owner got back in the room they tacked a thousand dollars on my payment because of fees. The owner got hostile with my mother because he thought she was accusing him of doing something bad I didnt want a fight so I said ok. When we drove it off the lot it seemed like I made a good desicion.

The next few days the check engine light came  on and it started to sputter when it was switching gears, we took it into the dealership they did a check on it and it was the o2 censor problem. So they said it was a hose that wasn't connected right wich seemed a little far fetched to me they cleared the check engine light. A few days later it turned back on. I checked under the car it didn't have an exhaust pipe no muffler which answered why it was so loud. i did some research and found out they didn't do emmissions on the car prior to selling the vehicle. And it was illigal for me to drive on the road because it is the law.

So I have to pay 297 a month for a car I can't even drive Plus the insurance which is 320 a month because I must have full coverage on the car whitch I can undebecause because the car needs to be covered. So I'm ending up paying over 600 a month for a car I can't drive. I went and got a system check myself. There were two codes for it. The dealership said there was only one code.  I took the car back over to the dealer a few days ago Telling them the sale they made was illigal and it makes the contract void. They refused to give me my down payment back. I didn't feel safe driving the car so I had it towed over to their dealership yesterday.

after they refused they told my mom they would fix the emmissions and the exhaust . They promised to have the car done by today. I didn't get any calls so by 6 o'clock tonight I had to call them to make sure they were fixing my car And not just taking it from me even  though I'm paying for it. They man on the phone was nice gave me information and told me the they ordered the wrong o2 censor. I mean it could happen but with the problems I've encountered I don't trust them as much as I did when I signed the contract. I hope I'm doing favor for everybody by saying this Please do yourselves a favor and look past this company I know I regret signing with them.
