During the purchase of a property (short sale) it was foreclosed on - caused by an incompetant agent by the name of Lorena Mota. The purchase agreement specifically states that if a property is foreclosed on, nothing is needed for the earnest money to be returned.
Chicago Title, Courtney Duke and Lorri Tebbs kept giving the run around - it was sent out, I'll check on it, we have to check with management, Lorri is taking care of that, Courtney is taking care of that and so on... Finally after contacting some upper management, customer service and their marketing department, 6 weeks after the property was foreclosed on we have a picture of an earnest money refund check but not the actual in hand yet...
We have had previous problems with Chicago Title in the past and heard the same from others... We did not want to use them but with short sales and bank owned properties it's usually the seller's choice. If the situation were to happen again where Chicago Title was the seller's choice? We'll pass on the property, period!
I highly recommend to anyone purchasing a property of any kind to stay away from Chicago Title!
