Choice marketing is a scam. This is door to door sales. IT is 100% commission.

I had a first interview two weeks ago with Patrick. the girl said I was going to meet with the hiring manager but I ended up interviewing with Patrick who was in hr. He talked about staples and Verizon - how this was a customer service position working with the existing customers Helping with there accounts. I was pretty excited because all my previous jobs were all new  acquisition sales. I told him about that and he said the cool thing was we worked with existing customers as an account manager not as a sales rep. I asked about salary and he said the reps make 35 a year and that it was negotiable. My last job was ten an hr plus commission so this was definitely a step in the right direction that the lowest would 35k.

I ended up getting invited back for a second day orientation with one the top account managers. The girl said she worked with staples we headed out to her territory. I did not know we would be leaving the office for this job. she talked about how face to face was a lot better than over the phone. I was nervous but thought with existing customer it still would be okay. When we got to the territory we stopped in a strip mall. She said we were here and told me not to talk in the businesses unless I was spoken to or if I wanted to comment about the weather.  we then in a span of a half hour walked into about 10 different business asking them who they ordered their office supplies from. When people said staples or Office Depot/max she would try and sell them on "quill". If they said quill we left. I asked what quill was and she said that was a sister company of staples. I asked why we left the customers who had quill and she said we couldn't sell to existing customers.

Not only did they lie about leaving or leave out the fact that this is door to door sales but they also don't work with any existing customers. They sell office supplies to businesses. There are no leads. The customers don't know we are coming. Just straight door to door. There is no customer service what so ever. All sales.

At lunch she gave me a breakdown of the management training and pay. It is all commission. They have a base of 500 a week ( that's 26 a year NOT 35K) BUT you have to do a certain number of sales to qualify for it! That isn't a base then. If you don't get the sales you don't get paid. They also don't pay for your gas. there is no vacation time. You don't get paid on holidays!

This company is a scam

patrick is the biggest liar I have ever seen. How you allow a person to work here that lies that much is crazy!

No base salary. No customer service. ALL DOOR TO DOOR SALES!

love the picture of quill where in giant letters it says "there are issues with this page"

that at helps legitimize it.

I just  posted my resume on career builder on Tuesday morning and got a call Tuesday afternoon saying someone from this company looked at my resume. How? I didn't even apply to your company.

Now  that I've read this I'm definitely not going in.

Cydcor door to door choice marketing concepts

I did get offered a position... I obviously declined. Did you know they are part of cydcor? A known company for deceptive door to door sales. Look they up on youtube or cydcor scam. Used to be part  of dam max. I currently spoke to a few ex cydcor employees and a case is being made against them. Don't worey thought if you ask if they are affiliated with cus or they will say no but go in for an interview and look the the leader magazines on their desk and they all say cus or. If you are going to lie at least be better at it. Geeez.

and no sales is not hard. I have been doing sales for 7 years. door to door cold calling is a different story. ask anyone who does actual sales and they will laugh.... Might as well go sell cut I knives and Tupperware

I just interviewed there-GREAT COMPANY

I just interviewed with them this week and I want to clear this up, it seems rather negative and spiteful. I never post anything on these blogs for many reasons.

Sales is a tough business period. Nothing happens until a sale is made, and certainly businesses would not be in open if there were not sales people making sales. In my interview with them I could not say one derogatory thing about anyone I met, especially Patrick.

When we were out we encountered friendly business men and women that appreciated what we were doing, whether they had an existing account or not. Those that bash companies like this do not appreciate that sales people have strong type A personalities, and that this comes naturally. In sales you create your own job security, not like a support position that expects a check at the end of the week (which comes from someone's sale I might add.)

But this is not meant to be negative. It doesn't really matter what flavor of customer service one is doing, it is all the same.

It is all sales in some form and fashion. More importantly there are actually companies out there doing things ethically. If this is not a place for you to work then go about your way and do not criticize how others make a great living and enjoy their life.

Patrick covered the same information with me, and he was not lying about anything he told me. As you go through the interview, they even have documents and numbers to support what they give for salary expectation. The representative I was with actually showed me some of her paychecks and how much they really were-which weren't half that bad!

Quill is the business division of Staples, and their salary starts around 500 plus commission which they told everyone I talked to that was interviewing, not just you. They are also hiring for a retail position with Verizon where there is an hourly rate instead of a salary every week if that is more your thing. This should honestly work for anyone that would be applying to a representative or entry level position in this field.

Just because you were not chosen or hired or it was not a good fit does not make the company a terrible place to work or interview or the position a scam. I was able to meet with a dozen different people there and they were all awesome people! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that opinion might be skewed or worse, met with a harse response.

You should find a nice support position that relies on an account executive to make sales and bring in business so you can receive a check that's the same small amount at the end of the week-that's all I'm saying. You shouldn't have even applied if it wasn't for you. Nothing happens until a sale is made-nothing.
