(Product Name: Mail in rebate of $150 value) I purchased a laptop on 10/08/2005 from Circuit City offered with a $150 mail in rebate. This was posted on the 10/09/2005 including all the required receipts. I scanned all prior to mailing these as I was denied a mail in rebate previously as it was claimed lost.

I enquired about the rebate status two weeks ago on line and received an email stating that the rebate had not been received or got lost and that the forms would need to be resubmitted to: Rebate Special Services, PO Box 028516, Miami FL 33102-8516 OR Fax Number: (888) 769-7702 and that another 8 weeks would need to be allowed. Obviously I would be unable to send the receipts again if I had not scanned them digitally.

I cannot believe CC is not practicing this other than for fraudulent intend to loose people out of the rebate process. Further I intended to call about this issue and the calls were ended twice after I had given my personal details! Calling the store direct was even less satisfying as I was not allowed to speak to the store manager where I purchased the item and where the rebate form was filled out. Keeping calling!!!

STILL NOT RECEIVED MY MONEY!!! STAY CLEAR!!!

Not Circuit City. Parage/RebatesHQ is the culprit

AUTHOR: Reaganomics - (U.S.A.)

Please do your research before slamming anyone. The institute in question here is NOT Circuit City. Parage/Rebates HQ is a rebate company used by MANY major Retail consumer names to process rebates. If you would simply google search the mailing address you would find that MANY Retail stores ask consumers to mail certain rebates to the same address in Miami Florida. Ace Hardware, Staples, Officemax, and Circuit City are a few.

However, everything else you said about your rebate is true. I was almost a victim of the EXACT same fraud tactic. My rebate was submitted PERFECTLY. I don't have a scanner, but i took digital photographs of my rebate form and receipt "just in case". 6 weeks passed, and i expected to have received my $150 visa prepaid card. Nothing. I checked the rebate status online with a tracking # that was emailed to me, and found that it was rejected due to "missing purchase date". Interesting... the purchase date was printed clearly on the sales receipt. The sales receipt was stapled to the Rebate Submission form. The rebate submission form was obviously received, but somehow when it arrived, the purchase date had mysteriously disappeared. Parago knows what is happening. They count on consumers being too lazy to pursue the situation and just give up their money. So i say again: Do some research.

I dug around online and found a Customer Service phone number for Parago posted on a random BLOG. (They don't have it posted anywhere on their website. They don't WANT people to call them) I navigated through the automated menu and was eventually given the option to speak with a customer service representative. 20 minutes later i talked with a service agent. I didn't hint that i was upset at all (you can catch more flies with honey than with salt). He told me that my envelope was "damaged" (probably a lie), which is why the purchase date was illegible on the sales receipt and asked if i could tell him the Purchase date. I told him the date, he submitted it for me, and promised me that the prepaid card would now be sent to me. I'll wait 6 more weeks to see if that actually happens tho. I'll just hope for the best.

With patience and kind words, you can make things happen.

You didnt get any help from Circuit City because the rebate wasnt issued by Circuit City. Our rebate center is in Montana. Unless this rebate was different then every other one we offer your concern is with the maker of your product.
