I got a home improvement loan with Citifinancial. I took out the insurance in case I lost my job, hurt, etc.. I 'm now out of a job, and the insurance company ( Trinton) which is Citifinancials insurance will not take up my payments as they said that would. They say I did not have enough hours pre week in to qualify.. I have shown them my pay check stubs, tax returns and my ex-employer has giving them the proof they need. Now they tell me that my ex-employer never gave proof. When I speak to someone at the local Citifinancial office they tell me there is nothing they can do, the insurance company is a private company.

When I call the insurance company they answer the phone as Citifinancial. They are all one in the same. I'm now 2 payments behind, and they tell me not to worry until I get things worked out with the insurance company. Well I think Citifinancial should be the one working it out with them. It is Citifinancial's insurance company, and the insurance company owes them. If I had not been making the reuired amount of hours I would have not gotten the loan..

This company is a RIP off company, and now I feel they are trying to give me the run around, telling me not to worry about the past due payments so they can foreclose on my home. If any one knows what I can or need to do please let me know.

Did Crystal ever give us the President /CEO Kevin Kessinger's address????? We want and need that.

I'm currently in court with them. That is the only reason they can't take my home. I have proof of 18 payments of them taking money from my checking account and they put other acct#'s on it.

CITIMORTGAGE LIES ..Dont listen to them when they tell you not to worry about the back payments.

Gloria,

Dont listen to them when they tell you not to worry about the back payments. The told us that too and we now are renting because they took our home after my husband was laid off from his job of 5 years and we couldnt make the payments. They told us not to worry to just file loss mitigation and all would be well.Well they worked with us alright. The told us that we had a week to come up with $3000.00 down and our new monthly payment would be $2100.00 a month on an 124000.00 dollar loan.I told them that my husband had only been back to work a week and there was no way i could get $3000.00 in a week. They said to bad and took the house.I have tried to contact everyone i can and no one will listen. The federal trade commission listen the best but they said that more complaint would have to come in before they could do anything.Good luck and remember what ever they said turn it around and you have your answer to your question..

I hate seeing what Citifinancial has done to all of you.

Crystal admits in one of her rebuttals that she is an employee.

I hate seeing what Citifinancial has done to all of you.

Crystal, since you have so much to add to everyone's problem then why don't you give us some information!

We need Kevin Kessinger's address. You will know that he is President of Citi. He needs to know about what small town usa offices are doing!

I have to chuckle while reading Crystals replies. She's replied several times across the message boards here.

Apply some pressure

notify the Commerce Commission and the AG to investigate the questionable practices. The more complaints registered against companies like Citifinancial the more officials may take notice and put these companies out of business. Predatory lenders are all they are. Sad but true

CitiFinancial/ CitiMortgage

AUTHOR: Jayne - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 15, 2004

This is in response to Crystal in Detroit. Are you with CitiFinancial or CitiMortgage? And if so, what title do you have; what division do you work in?

I find your answer to Gloria in Florida typical of CitiMortgage employees. You create the problem and tell the consumer to undo it.

It's bad customer service, it is unethical, and in many cases, Citi has policies that are patently unlawful.

To defend such actions is to be an indefensible part of the company you work for. I do not pity people who work for corrupt corporations. Shame on you.

SIMPLE SOLUTION

AUTHOR: Crystal - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 03, 2004

There is a number and fax number to the insurance company on the form. They require you to have worked so many months and hours a day (same as your state unemployment policy) If you don't qualify for state benefits, you more than likely do not qualify for the insurance benefits. This is no fault of the insurance company or Citifinancial. Yes, Citi does own the insurance company, its a separate subsidary. Meaning it is a separate company owned by the same parent group CITIGROUP.

As for the threat of foreclosure, I am CERTAIN they offered my options to you, such as adjustments to lower your payment or deferments to catch you up. It is your obligation as a consumer to cooperate. I am confident we are one of the few companies that do work with our mortgage customers. It is more benefical to the company to offer options then to foreclose. In fact our executive office does a great job off enforcing and training our employee on solving problems rather than threatening. I do believe their is a huge misunderstanding here.

In addition, your documents will show regardless of protections you are still contractually obligated to make your payments should your protections not pay or take longer than usual to process because the appropriate information has not been provided. In addition if you do not qualify for your protections, the insurance company does a COMPLETE refund applied directly to your balance. Meaning it will not advance your due date or clear outstanding interest, but it WILL decrease your balance that amount unless it is a monthly pay product. In that case they will refund any monies paid directly to your balance, and yes backdate. Just ask our corporate auditors that check us yearly. Trust me, if we didn't do this correctly, people loose their careers, but in the end the consumer always gets the adjustment.

So take the time to call the insurance company direct and get a detailed explaination to what is needed and why they cant pay. Plus you can work out an arrangement on your mortgage to bring it current without paying two months worth of payments. Best of luck!!
