They bill bi monthly at a rate of $40 for water and $20 for sewer services.
That's $60 per month.
Why is their late fee more than 90 percent of their monthly charge for service? This isn't a fee. Its another persons bill.
I feel deeply for our seniors on fixed income and with 1 payday a month for life from social security. It is sad to see the city of jackson taking from its citizens. I trust someone is getting whealthy from this scam.

How to be heard on water

Now, paying $30 for a whole two months of water for two people comes to only 25 cents a day. If you only had one person, that would be 50 cents a day. If you live in a house and you are paying a lot more, then I would call the utilities department and have your meter checked to see if it is working properly. If you live in an apartment, usually your water, sewer, and trash are included in your total monthly rent. If not, you need to see the bill or call your landlord or landlady. Many times in Jackson, the landlords have illegally hooked up the water and sewer to Jackson around the meter and collect the rents and supposed utility payments, but do not remit them to Jackson. When Jackson finds out, they will shut the water off and eventually imprison the landlord and/or sue for back payments.
