Dear City of San Diego, Consumer Complaint Division

Re: Parking Tickets for sold car, Subaru Forester 2010 (VIN#JF2SH6CCXAH704690), Plate number (CA) 7EPB373, red and faxed to 916-657-6753 the Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability on Jan 26, 2016 again- This car was towed even though it was registered and then parking tickets after car was sold.

Date Opened Dec 2014 $73 First Reported Feb 2015 became $98 as of April 2016

Date Opened Jan 2015 $73 First Reported Feb 2015 became $99 as of April 2016

Date Opened Dec 2014 $113 First Reported Feb 2015 became $139 as of April 2016

Date Opened Jan 2015 $83 First Reported March 2015 became $115 as of April 2016

sold this car in 2014 and faxed to 916-65 Franchise Tax Board, Subaru Forester 2010 ( VIN#JF2SH6CCXAH704690), Plate ; CA 7EPB373, red, at Del Mar, CA. Even though I have the proper documents for registration still not only I received a citation but my car as towed. I asked City of San Diego to pay my towing expenses, refund my money, and correct the credit reporting.

Unfortunately, your service has not performed well because not only I had a registration but also later this car was sold. I am disappointed because the service was not performed correctly; I was billed the wrong amount; information was misrepresented.

To resolve the problem, I would appreciate your cooperation for money refunded, and repair my credit report. Enclosed are copies of my records I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my problem and will wait until May 2nd, 2016 and meantime I am also seeking help from a consumer protection agency or the Better Business Bureau. Please contact me at the above address or by phone at 858-729-4942.

Sincerely,

Demet Sag

I see your problem...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 04, 2016

First if I read this report correctly, you sold a car that received parking tickets after you sold it.  If that is correct it appears your problem stems from this one statement..

I sold this car in 2014 and faxed to 916-65 Franchise Tax Board

In California when you sell a car you are required to send in the Release of Liability to the DMV.  Until you do that you are technically still liable.  Until the DMV records this, any agency(such as a city parking authority) will use those DMV records and make the current registered owner the DMV shows responsible.

But with this I have no idea where the towing comes in or why you are concerned about it.  Although I have a feeling that you know who got these tickets on this car you sold.  If that is the case this person is the one you need to go after for failing to pay the tickets.  Especially if you failed to follow proper procedure in selling your car.

Pay...

AUTHOR: Tyg - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 03, 2016

What I see is a failure to PAY on YOUR part and now that you CLAIM to have sold it there is an issue. Did you PAY YOUR TICKETS?? As far as they are concerned YOU are trying to skip out on what YOU owe by selling the vehicle. Its a COMMON TACTIC to get out of paying a debt!!! So not only are they wise to it, but they dont care!!! Perhaps YOU should have paid off the tickets YOU recieved due to YOUR poor choices BEFORE you sold the vehicle. YOUR DEMANDS are going to fall on deaf ears due to the FACT that there has been no monies paid on what YOU OWE!!! Sorry to say this but YOU cant WHINE about the consequences of YOUR ACTIONS onlin!! Im sure it makes YOU feel better to think that THEY are the bad guys, but the reality is that YOU FAILED TO PAY YOUR TICKETS and THIS is the outcome of that choice. Get over it and move on and LEARN FROM THIS!!!
