On May 20, 2014, I ordered an instrument cluster for my 2005 Chevrolet Impala from this company through the "Buy It Now" option on eBay for $59.96 plus $9.95 shipping and handling, for a grand total of $69.91.  I paid for this item with my credit/debit card through PayPal as this was the preferred method of payment for this company.  The money was taken out of my bank account for this item on May 21, 2014 and eBay indicated that I should have received the item somewhere between May 22-24.

On May 28, 2014 when I had still not received my item after 8 days since I ordered it, I opened a dispute case with eBay after I had attempted twice to contact the seller directly to no avail.  When I opened the dispute with eBay, I was contacted by the owner of Classic Speedometer Repair, Joshua Gillpatrick, who informed me that he did not have any knowledge of the part even being sold to me and that he would, "personally look into the matter".  Later that same day, Mr. Gillpatrick contacted me again and stated that my part was "either misplaced or thrown away".

To say that I was furious was an understatement.  However, Classic Speedometer did issue me a full refund of $69.91.  I could understand a delay of maybe a day or two because of the Memorial Day holiday but c'mon, you take my money and then 8 days later you tell me you either lost or threw away the part I ordered?  I am a vehicle salesperson in Pennsylvania and needed this part in order to sell the vehicle.  I had a hell of a time finding a replacement instrument cluster for this vehicle and because of this fiasco, Classic Speedometer ended up costing me more time and money.  I ended up having to spend $189.00 through a different company to finally get the instrument cluster that I needed.

The level of customer service that I received from Classic Speedometer Repair absolutely sucked.  They ought to be ashamed if this is how they treat all of their customers.  This company should be banned from performing any further business on eBay and I would urge anybody considering doing business with this compproceed do so with caution.

Terroristic threats

AUTHOR: Someone - ()

POSTED: Thursday, September 04, 2014

I just read a review on Kudzo where a customer took a 2006 Toyota Prius (July 2014) in to this company for repair twice and was informed that it could not be repaired.  This customer stated that the work that he had requested came with a lifetime warranty and when he was told it could not be repaired, he demanded a full refund.  The company refused to issue a refund this customer and proceeded to make terroristic threats to this customer by stating that they "had an AR-15 assault rifle and a .45 caliber pistol" and to "come on down if you think you can get a refund".  As for my own report from back in May, the owner of the company repeatedly called my cell phone and was quite nasty with me.  In my instance, the company listed a part on eBay that they never had in their possession yet they "sold" it to me anyway, took my money and failed to deliver my part.  When I called them on it by issuing a dispute on eBay, I was informed that the part was either "misplaced or thrown away" and the owner tried to cover it up by saying that he "had no knowledge of the part ever being sold to me".  At least the owner did the right thing in my instance and gave me a full refund.  But when I receive substandard service from any company anywhere, I have the right to voice my opinion and tell as many people as I want about it.  When you put an item up for sale or bid on eBay and you don't have the item regardless of reason, you pull the ad...common sense.  When you go and charge somebody for an item even though it's not in your possession, that's fraud, whether you issue a refund or not.  You're supposed to be the owner of the da*n company, I just don't understand how the f*** can you not know about the part ever being sold to me?  I don't care what you say, there's something wrong with that picture and it seemed pretty freaking blatant to me.   And when people call you out for down and out fraud like in both of these instances, you're going to get angry with them and threaten them?  Dude, don't you realize that you could be arrested for making terroristic threats if you continue going around telling people that you are going to use weapons on them if they come to your business when they request a refund?

Simple mistake, extremely rude and imaginative customer

AUTHOR: Classic Speedometer - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 17, 2014

This customer has quite the imagination and far too much time on his hands. We completely admit and admitted to him that we had made a mistake in our inventory. We have well over 100 items in our inventory and on two occasions over the last 4 years an item that has sat for a long time has come up missing. In this situation we let the customer know as soon as we realized that the item was not in our inventory anymore. He received a full refund and an apology via eBay email. He has since tried to tarnish our name in every way possible from: bad feedback on eBay to a report to the Better Business Bureau as well as Angie's List. We have always been good, honest sellers and this is no exception. As stated in the title this man has far too much time on his hands. If he is perfect we would love proof of it. All companies including small companies make mistakes from time to time. We have never encountered a customer with this much lack of understanding. We definitely wish him the best in the future and hope that he does not buy through eBay anymore. Any potential customer with a problem with this report is encouraged to call us and check out the excellent reviews that we have on eBay.thank you for reading this. God bless you all!

Classic Speedometer Repair-Marietta, Georgia...fraudulent business!

AUTHOR: Anonymous - ()

POSTED: Sunday, June 01, 2014

I wanted to add to my original report that I believe that Classic Speedometer Repair committed fraud in the incident that I described.  What else would you call it when you take somebody's money, claim that you had "no knowledge of the part ever having been ordered" and only admit that the part that was ordered was "either misplaced or thrown away" once a dispute case with eBay was opened 8 days after the order was placed and the part had not been received?  I believe that Classic Speedometer Repair never had the part that they had listed on eBay, which I had supposedly ordered through the "Buy It Now" option and knew that they never did have the part, yet they charged me $69.91 anyway ($59.96 for the part and $9.95 shipping and handling).  Hmmm, sounds like fraud to me!  The only reason that they issued me a full refund is because I called them out through eBay.  eBay is investigating my incident and hopefully this company will be permanently banned from performing any further business on their website due to fraudulent selling practices and listing violations.

In closing, I would like to advise anybody who is considering doing business with Classic Speedometer Repair to go elsewhere, but if you decide to do business with them anyway, good luck...you're gonna need it!
