Collecto, Inc. has been licensed as a debt collection agency in Colorado since July 5, 2001. They dropped the trade name Collection Company of America in 2007. They may no longer collect under that trade name. You may file a formal complaint with our office. I will need a copy of the credit report showing that they are collecting under the name Collection Company of America. I have attached a consumer rights brochure, a complaint form and additional consumer information that may be helpful in resolving your complaint. They even sent me a letter saying they were licensed with a copy of it. Not as the state now has a complaint with all of the information to make trouble for them

Credit Report Errors from Debt Collectors
AUTHOR: Ian Lyngklip - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, September 25, 2011
Additionally, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) if you dispute the information with the credit reporting agency, that same debt collector has to conduct a reasonable investigation into your dispute. If this process fails, you can present a claim against the debt collector for violations of both of these statutes.
You may want to hire an attorney to help you with this dispute if you have not had any luck on your own.
Lyngklip & Associates sues debt collectors under both the FCRA and FDCPA. www.sue4abuse.com
