The moving company agreed to $8000 to move our belongings from OR to MS.  They were supposed to pick up our trike and VW bug at the same time.   We signed contracts and paid a deposit.  They were supposed to come on 7/15/16 and bring a 72 foot truck.  My husband and I called 21 times from 7/716-7/13/16 to confirm date and time.  Finally, I got someone on the phone who said the movers would be there on 7/15/16 between 12-4.  The movers showed up at 9:30pm with a 32 foot truck.  They were going to load half of our belongings.   The next day, I had to make several  calls and beg them to come back to pick up the rest of the belongings.   The movers showed up at 4pm and picked up more of our belonings.  They left behind over $2000 worth of belongings behind.  They did not pick up the VW or trike as contracted.  We had to hire another company to come out.  They finally sent someone to pick up the VW bug, 4 days late and then we were charged an additional $50 over the contracted price.  The company would only refund the money, if we signed a "final settlement" agreement.   When the movers arrived, in a different truck, the price had alomost doubled to $15,000 (14,000 for the furniture and 1350 for the VW bug) and they refused to unload until we paid the money.  The company refused to answer our calls and the movers did not speak English.   Now the company is offering to settle for $250 dollars when they doubled the price of the move without a revised contract and held our belongings hostage until we paid the fee and we lost the deposit on our apartment, because of all the belonging left behind.
