comcast changed my phone # without my knowledge I thought my phone was out of order I called a friend she told me a strange # showed up on her id caller I've had my # for the 40 years + that i've ben in this house I do use comcast services cable, internet Phone but i had this # years before i used comcast I never asked for a new # and they never told me i would be getting a new # I want the # i've had for over 40 yrs they had no right to change it. without my knowledge

You need to tell us (readers) more about the situation. When did you get Comcast service? What kind of service did you get? TV only? Internet only? Bundle (TV, Internet, and phone)? Where is the contract you signed (should be during the installation)?
These could determine why the number was changed. Along the process, you might have allowed them to do so in order to upgrade or new installation that has to do with your current telephone line which may not be qualified for the service you are getting...
