take this as u wish--but this is my experience------got service and first they give u there modem in which u spend an extra 7 a month for rental-whatever---so they had an offer where you pay for a modem and they give you the money back through the rebate---when i got the new modem and plugged it in the internet did not work--so i called up there office(thinkin they got to activate it) --they said they couldnt activate it and they need to send someone out--i kind of mentioned i hope i dont get charged for this cause i dont think it was me---I KNOW HOW TO HOOK A MODEM UP-DUH??------in any case--day or so later tech support comes--at first he took opff my t connection and ran a straight wire--didnt work!!----then for a half hour-he had what looked like a 1980's first cell phone and he was callin the home office and reading serial #'s in the back of the modem for them to activate it------finally it worked--he said that" the office people are stupid" and that they had to find the serial# to activate the modem and they were havin problems finding the numbers----i get the bill next month and they charge me 30$ for tech support!!-----i called and said i didnt need tech support causre the problem was at your office and activating the modem--at first he semed like he was goin to reverse the charge--then he put me on hold-comes back with a different atttiude and says sorry--if someone comes out there no matter what we have to charge you the 30$----------i wasnt happy and i planned on leaving comcast then--but no internet service providers here--i canyt get att internet-------in any case---here i am 3 monthd later and i cannot connect to thew internet again---they said they need someone to come out and look at it--i asked will i be charged--she says if there is a problem with your modem or the wiring in your apartment yes you will be charged--if it has somethin to do with outside you wont be charged????---they told me last time no matter what if someone comes out i will be charged----so i said f that and cancelled the service----fortantely a new internet provider is around and i was able to say f comcast up there stupid as$'s--------------------------------------------------now--this is my opinion and not facvt--but i think they can shut off the sytem when they wish and when people call , and say its broke--ok tech support------when i went to the office to get the modem there was a few people in there with "tech support" problems--apparently the comcast system is insuperior and always breakin----i had att and never had a problem-------------but the underlying ripoff here is the fact i was charged for tech support and not needing it even confirmed by there technician---i think they make a lot of money with tech support charges
