I recently moved to the Houston area and ordered cable/internet/phone from Comcast as its the only provider I could choose from for cable. I ordered my service on June 30th and was told it would be installed in two parts: cable/internet on July 15th and telephone on July 18th. I also paid a deposit and equipment fee with my debit card of $272.

On July 14th Comcast called me to ask if they could move the telephone install to August 1st. They assured me that the cable/internet were still on for July 15th. I agreed.

On July 15th the installer called to let me know he would be at my house within an hour. Six hours later I called him back. He told me that my install had been canceled in his system and moved to August 1st. He advised I call the Houston office. The first person I spoke with told me to just call the installer back and tell him to go ahead and do it on that day. I couldn't reach the installer again (left several messages but he wouldn't answer).

I called Comcast Houston back again. This time they said they showed my install was for that day and assured me that dispatch would send him over "right away". Two hours later I called back and the same person I had spoke to said her system now showed it was all moved to August 1st.

I canceled the whole deal and was assured that my refund would be back on my card within 2 days. A week later, I called Comcast to ask why my refund hadn't shown up on my card. They said they would mail a check "in about two or four weeks" and hung up rudely. On August 8th (after 24 days) I called Comcast again. This time they said I should have gotten a refund in 3 to 4 days but that no one had told the accounts receivable people to send it to me yet - in other words when I canceled no one told whoever to give me a refund. I asked to speak with someone in accounts and was told they couldn't be reached as they were "internal". I was told to call back on Friday to see if the refund had been issued to my card at that time or not.

The way Comcast treats people is not right. I have been shuffled around to people who have no idea how things work and haven't been refunded the $272 owed to me! If a customer had overlooked a bill and owed them $272 for 24 days I am sure they would have taken action to make sure their accounts department knew.

Comcast Is Evan A Bigger Joke Than Time Warner

AUTHOR: Margaret - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 08, 2007

Comcast is a joke, period!! You will be better off getting satellite if you are not in an apartment. If everyone in Houston would boycott these idiots, they would go out of business here and hopefully someone else reputable would come in to replace Time Warner,
