My father passed away February 16, 2014 it's a shame he couldn't have died sooner that way  I wouldn't have had to pay the full price for the month. I called in and told these ppl that he had passed away and I was suspending his account. He couldn't use it anymore (He's dead)! Aha! There is no reason to do this because until they receive their equipment calling in and suspending means nothing and then until it is posted from what I'm hearing is there is a line (first come first serve) until you are fully suspended. I was given three different things: one was I had to pay for the full amount even though I had already called in. 2nd: No you will only pay the time you used which would have been 1-16 Feb which I would have taken the 18th since that was when I called them maybe I didn't need grieving time either. 3rd: Oh you paying for the whole month regardless of when he died it was after the billing period. Not to mention rude customer Support, long hold times (only good thing I was able to press 4 and have them to call me back 3x). I would rather have had my dog to babysit then deal with this company with its many billing complaints at least paying him attention is a lot cheaper than paying for a service someone doesn't need after they are dead...

" My father passed away February 16, 2014 it's a shame he couldn't have died sooner that way  I wouldn't have had to pay the full price for the month"

Lady, that's pretty cold.  I would offer HIM my sympathy...you certainly don't need it.

To whomever wrote replied to what I said about my dad, I don't need your sympathy and neither does he. You're the one one who need it, for not reading and understanding the sarcastic comment I made and why I made it before allowing your senseless mind to wander off and type about what you DO NOT understand. So, for future references if you have nothing to do with Connect America, then keep your comments to yourself cause they are not needed here. You wanna reply to something go put your face in a book or get on some other social network and give your input there, but not on my REPORT!

Well the problem here is:

I have been with connect America since 2012 so I passed the three month commitent.  Secondly, the equipment was returned in good condition as it was received the first day I even returned the handouts that originally came with it. I was still told that I had to pay the full month of February, I even asked was there a final bill and I was told yes the whole amount for February. So, apparently someone missed the part of terms and conditions where I get a refund for unused services or either your terms and conditions are null and void.. Please feel free to tell me which it is...

Here's an excerpt from their terms and conditions...

The monthly monitoring charge will begin the date the system is received by Subscriber. This contract will automatically renew unless either party gives written notice of its intent to cancel. I understand there is a three month minimum for service and if I cancel afterwards, I am entitled to a full refund for any unused prepaid monitoring. Failure to return all equipment in satisfactory condition will result in a charge of $359.40. Your account will continue to be billed at $29.95/ month until our unit is returned in good working order.
