I got the DNA kit with a living social deal so it was not full price but the results that I received were not worth anything.
I read the disclaimer that basically absolves them of anything but I thought why not give it a try and see what they tell me about my ancestry.

I believe that my results are either someone else's results or they are just flat out making things up.  My father was Iris and German while my mother is Dutch.

According to Connect My DNA:  My connections are North Korea, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Iran, Kuwait, China, Egypt, Qatar and Syria.

I was hopping this would be fun and interesting not a complete waste of time and money.  I bet they don't even have a lab to send the swabs to.  I could probably get more accurate results using my area code or zip code to find my ancestry.

Avoid this gimmick at any price.  I paid $29 but I would still be upset if I had paid $5.  At least get the right continent.

I will also file a complaint with the BBB and see what my refund options are.

This employee rebuttle is the copy and past response that I got when I complained right to the company about the bogus results.  If you read the fine print it absolves them from any acuracy whatsoever.  It is a way to waste your hard earned money and that is it.  The employees might harass you if you post any comments on U-tube just on FYI.  Learn from my mistake.

Thank you for posting your comments. We find that most are surprised with their results simply because most have the tendency to compare our results with some form of ancestry or what we know or believe our heritage to be.

ConnectMyDNA is not intended to be used as an ancestry product. What we show you is that regardless of your ancestry and heritage, as a human species we are all connected in a very unique way.

By using the 13 markers (Loci 13) which is but a tiny fragment of your DNA genome, we can compare these markers to other population groups around the world using a very specific and scientific genetics population formula (Hardy Weinberg Equation) to calculate how often your markers appear in these databases (referred to as the frequency of occurrence).

What your results are showing you is that a very small piece of your DNA structure contains some similarities to these various population groups.  You can also refer to a post that we placed in the NOTES section of our FaceBook page that explains how we determined the results.

We hope this information is helpful.  Thank You
