I recently won "free gifts" after visiting a bridal expo. I was told to meet at a hotel in San Jose to receive my gifts. It turned out to be a Cookworld Cookware show that I had to sit through in order to receive my gifts. The salesperson explained the cookware and even cooked in it in front of us. He explained that the pan stays cold on the outside and easy to handle, that food doesn't stick at all and the pan washes of easily with just water and leaves the pan staying pristine and shining. I was also told I'd receive a free 7 day vacation for paying. Because of the show I decided to buy the pans.

Once I realized I was crazy for paying 2000 (which they told me it would be 1700) I called the next day to cancel my order. I received the runaround and different numbers to call none of which were helpful. I left messages and voicemails trying to cancel this d**n order. No one would answer. The order was STILL shipped out. I called asking how I could return this order and someone MAGICALLY answers and I am "helped" right away. I am told I only had 3 days to cancel the order and even if I just received it in the mail there is nothing they can do about it "the 3 days are up." Who charges thousands of dollars for pots and pans and gives you 3 days to cancel? The salesperson NEVER mentioned this extremely IMPORTANT piece of information. The paper inside the box says to call within 10 days to return items. I tell this to their customer service and they say that's only for damaged items. UNBELIEVABLE.

Being stuck with the stupid pans I decide to try out its SUPERB cooking quality. WRONG AGAIN! Cooking on level 3 heat the food immediately sticks, I reach to take the lid off the pan since it was so cold at the show when he cooked, and it nearly burned my hand off. Everything was burning hot I couldn't even handle it at all without oven mitts. My first meal cooking in it and nothing will wash off. Cleaned the pot many times trying to get the crap at the bottom and after one use it looks like a 10 year old pan at the bottom. There are water spots around the entire pot. On top of that this "FREE" vacation ends up costing around $700. This was nothing but a complete scam. They are swindling so many people into buying their products. Worst of all they are misleading and scamming young couples barely starting a life together and sticking them with a $2000 bill.

They ARE good pans, if...

AUTHOR: CMC - (USA)

I hear you with the iffy customer service on the ordering side, but they are Awesome pans if you use them and clean them correctly.

I know they say to use them in a certain, super low heat way.  There's a dvd included with the order to show you how to do that.  I, however, just use it like a regular pan, remembering that they hold heat SUPER well, so cook at a lower temp than you would in a different skillet.  Use a bit of oil if the item calls for it.  Cleaning them correctly, though, is the real key to loving these pans.  Use a steel wool pad and an abrasive powder cleaner like Bar Keeper's Friend - found in any cleaner aisle nearish the Comet cleaner.  Get a good scrub on the entire surface to keep a good finish on the pan.  Once done, I rinse it, then run a soapy cloth over and rinse again.  That's just because the powder doesn't rinse well.  It's a pain in the tush to clean them, but if you do it like that they'll cook beautifully for you.

Also, as far as their guarantee service, my personal experience includes the fact that I cooked a dry sauce pot for a Loong time because the double boiler was in it and I didn't freaking know it.  I couldn't figure out why my water wouldn't boil!  Anyway, I totally ruined the pot; the bottom was all blue and black and it was discolored up the sides.  This was totally my own boneheaded mistake and they replaced it without questions or a hassle.  Today my roommate decided to put the skillet in the oven and she didn't know the handles weren't oven safe at the temp she was using (if at all) and she snapped the handle.  I'm about to find their number and see about getting a new handle.  I'll let you know if they make me pay anymore than shipping.

I hope you can find some love for the pans, if not their selling techniques.
