I worked diligently for a company called Corbin Research Group in FL which is owned by Angela Deen Cordrey formerly known ad Angela Deen Parrish.

The job was very simple.  All you had to do was call people's homes and run a quick political survey for the purpose of letting her clients, which are various candidates running for office, know the opinions of the people.  The first couple of days on the job, I was told that I did very well and had an exceptional call volume (I completed 50% of the calls when the client only needed 30% called). 

I was told by the supervisor who hired me, Karen Milks, that I would be paid out of pocket by the owner, Angela, in order for them not to lose me, but then the story began to change.  When asked when the money would be received, I was told that Angela hadn't gotten paid by her client as of yet.  That was odd because I was told Angela would pay out of pocket.  I waited for a week and a half longer than I should have waited until Karen told me that Angela finally got paid.  Anyway, I expected to be paid via direct deposit because I requested it, but then I was told that I would be paid by check and that the check was sent out on Tuesday morning of Aug 12th.  I called Karen a few days afterward and asked where my check was and I was told it was "in the mail".  When the next week finally arrived and I was suspicious about whether or not the check was even sent and I was told by Karen that Angela sent the check on Wednesday evening of Aug 13th.  The stories kept changing and there was no proof that a check was even sent. 

Anyway, I was finally terminated that same week I was looking for my check.  I told Karen that I am owed the full amount, at which she said,"Angela only pays after her clients pay her". 

I attempted to contact Angela via her business phone, FB and even email address with no response.  She also blocked me from FB in order to try to avoid the issue.  The funny thing is I never had contact with the owner within the 2.5 weeks I was working for them.  I should have known something fraudulent was going on once their was failed contact with the owner. 

I truly believe the political candidates who use her services would do better NOT to do business with her because it does not look good doing business with a woman who engages in fraudulent activities by not paying her employees/contractors, especially the ones who were dedicated to the job working weekdays, evenings and also weekends.

Watch out for this company.  This "lady" practices avoidance.  I will make sure to warn others  to prevent them from having this happen to them as well.

I understand fully... this individual Angela Deen Cordrey and her husband Rudy "Bruce" Cordey never paid me.

She prides herself on ignoring...out of sight out of mind theory., as does Bruce.  Always makes excuses ...no phone...lost phone...broke phone....no internet....whatever!

I loaned their OTHER company - SAVANNAH Catering $1526.00 on July 31, 2015...personal loan to help out because

they were in a bind...had no funds...and had to cater a job..or as they stated to me...

Bruce advised me he would pay me back in 1 week...was getting checks in on past jobs and he would send money right back. 

WELL..its October..no money.

 

I made a personal contact to a venue that they were at and Angela told me I was trespassing, called the police and said she did not owe me a dime.  How can she put her head on her pillow at night knowing what she does...

ANGELA DEEN PARRISH CORDREY (I think I got all the names) is a SCAMMER....as well as her husband Bruce Cordrey.

They dont pay anyone and act like they are running a legitimate business.

 

They need stopped!!!!

Yup!  It is definitely either Angela Deen Cordrey or Karen Sue Milks.

 
Looks like I have more to bring to my lawyer because it is against the law for the Higer Ups to disclose personal information about contractors/employees.  Either it is one of these ladies listed above or they disclosed personal info which is right out here in public and I made a screen shot of it as proof.  This lday is getting dumber by the minute.


I'm glad this message is getting out there.  Thank goodness for people who use emotion over thought. LOL

Missy or Mishon Jones of Orange, Connecticut or whatever you go by since you obviously have several aliases. You are only making yourself look like an idiot the more you post on here. And, I could really care less about any SEO's on this website. 

You completely contradict anything and everything you have mentioned in all of your posts. You stated in the original post that you contacted Karen and Angela around August 12th to find out where your check was, but then in another post you commented about it being unprofessional for someone who was let go to have to wait over a month to receive their final paycheck. It technically hasn't even been a full month and your causing a bunch of drama over nothing. It sounds to me like you need put your big girl panties on and grow up and get a life. No wonder why you got fired! I will continue posting this all over the place, because facts are facts and opinions are opinions and you my dear only have opinions at this point! This entire post will keep coming up with your name, your email, your user ID, and your location so the more it shows of you being immature and ignorant, the less of a chance you have to succeed. You obviously have hard feelings about being pointed out as a total failure across the entire internet, so before you embarass yourself anymore than you already have I suggest you drop everything, all your invalid points, all your claims about the company being a "fraud", all the harassing you are doing to Angela and Karen, and you move on with your life! Take what little you have left of your paycheck and go look for another job to sadly take you in for a few weeks. 

By the way, my name is Lauren whether you choose to believe it or not, I do work for the company and am not a supervisor/manager/owner/child of the owner/family of the owner/etc. Good luck to you in the future and hopefully none of us ever have to deal with ridiculous and immature people again!! Again, my original post still stands. There is nothing this lady, Lauren, could say to refute my original post and as we still speak, it is been over a month that the money has been owed. 

I am thanking "Lauren" for participating in this report because the more responses posted, the more this report will be exposed within the search engines.  This person is very upset and passionate for being a simple contractor.  As I said before, it must be someone in Upper Management.  Hmmmm.... so "Lauren" is your name, huh? 

I welcome you to continue participating in this post because you cannot refute the facts, plus this report will gain more views and a higher ranking within the search engines if you know anything about SEO, which I am sure you do not. 

Lastly, I am sorry to let you know I did not take the time to read the whole of your post because if you are not the owner, you are not the one who has my money, but thanks for taking the time to participate.

Actually my name is Lauren and I am NOT the owner, so nice try there. That's showing your intellegence that you assumed I was the owner of the company rather than an employee defending the company I work for! 

I noticed that you live in Orange, CT where maybe the regulations on how people are paid is a little different than here in Florida, but when you work a commission based job the pay is based on when the job is completed and paid by the customer. Since you worked for an employer in the State of Florida (which is what the law goes by) you can see from the U.S. Department of Labor website (dol.gov/dol/topic/wages/commissions.htm) in case you weren't too clear on how a real commission based job worked it states the following: 

"Commissions: A sales commission is a sum of money paid to an employee upon completion of a task, usually selling a certain amount of goods or services. Employers sometimes use sales commissions as incentives to increase worker productivity. A commission may be paid in addition to salary or instead of a salary. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does not require the payment of commissions. A Fact Sheet regarding commissions is available from the Wage and Hour Division's Web site." 

There it is---- "Upon Completion of a Task". One that you clearly had not completed, otherwise I'm sure she would have paid you a little faster. 

Also, while Connecticut does have a statute in place for "fired employees" such as youself stating the employer must have the final check given within 1 business day, Florida does not have any laws or statues stating when the final check needs to be issued. Therefore, Angela could have issued this check whenever she d**n well pleased! I think Angela was trying to be professional and not stoop down to your level of being immature and impatient enough to get a lawyer involved, so she just went ahead and issued a check. I hope that paycheck got you really far since you had to get an attorney involved!

Needless to say, you have no valid information against Angela, Karen, or Corbin Research and your opinion (which is what it is) doesn't really matter anymore! You are simply a disgruntled employee who got fired from one of the easiest jobs out there and just can't seem to let things go. Like I mentioned in the previous rebuttal, neither myself, nor any of my fellow currently employed co-workers have had any issues with this employer or being paid. This is a solitary issue that a fired employee had with not receiving her final paycheck on her terms and decided to throw a childish tantrum. In my opinion, I think her name needs to be put on the do not hire list rather than Corbin Research being put on Ripoffreport.com. Next time Missy, Do the Work, Complete the Job, and Then Get Paid!!

The Rebuttal Was Obviously From The Owner

This rebuttal is clearly from the "Upper Management" of Corbin Research Group. The person is obviously remaining anonymous for a reason.

My report speaks for itself.  The interesting thing is that I am finally in contact with the owner, Angela Deen Cordrey, of whom had an issue revealing the hours that were reported to her by her supervisor when asked about the hours reported to her.  I actually recently heard from the owner for the first time yesterday after my lawyer sent her a letter.  Hmmmmm... was the letter received?  It seems like it was because she suddenly wants to send payment after a month of avoidance. 

I do not know of the intellectual capabilities of the person of whom posted the rebuttal, but I am sure it is illegal to withhold pay from any employee or contractor especially after a month's time and to suddenly respond after attorney has sent letter.  You can't fool me. LOL 

Give everyone your name if you are a proud contractor/employee of Corbin Research Group.

Misunderstood Employee!

Let me start by saying that I completely disagree with what was posted on here about Corbin Research. As a valued employee I really enjoy having the freedom to work from home and choose my own hours. 

A few months ago, I found the job posting on the Ocala, Florida craigslist and was a bit skeptical at first. I sent an email of interest and soon heard back from the supervisor Karen. After speaking to Karen, I felt comfortable giving the company a try and felt that it wouldn't hurt to participate in one campaign to see how things worked. If after the first campaign I didn't like what the job entailed or didn't receive compensation for the work I completed then it was as simple as not working for them any longer. Karen seemed to be very thourough during our training phone call and explained to me what was expected of me on the phone calls, how the system worked, my responsibilities as far as keeping track of my hours and reporting to her the hours I was available, and the arrangment with how employees would be paid for the work they have done. She mentioned at one point that "if I expected a regular paycheck then this was not the job for me". She went on to explain that the customers that hire Corbin Research are different political parties all across the United States and that the job was to basically call the residents in their voting area to find out who they intended to vote for in the upcoming election. Some of these campaigns could have 500 residents in their area or they could potentially have 15,000 residents in their area; either way it was our job to call each one of these residents on the list. When the list of residents was completed then Karen would close out the job and Angela would disburse payment to all the employees who worked the particular campaign. If the campaign was not completed then pay would not be issued until it was done. Sometimes these campaigns could take 2-3 days and other times they could take a couple weeks. Basically, this was a commission based job. 

As a question to the original poster, What exactly was it that you didn't understand about the way you were to be paid? It almost sounds as though you assumed that after you made a few calls you would be paid at the end of the week and that you were to get a paycheck instantaneously. That is not how this job works! I have had the unfortunate pleasure of having fellow employees like you on my team who don't do their end of the work. We are all supposed to work as a team to get the calls made, and when someone doesn't do their end of the deal it makes the job drag on. This is a commission based job and it seems as though you misunderstood the payment arrangement. I had it explained to me, all my friends who work for Corbin had it explained to them, but you expect me to believe that Karen somehow didn't explain it to you? I think not! Just sounds like another complaining employee who just wants a paycheck, but doesn't want to do the work. Its employees like you that bring everyone down and ruin good, honest, and truly ethical companies across the United States.
