There are many Corizon staff members that are working at the Bartow and Frostproof facilities that have had enough of Corizon and there administration staff. The medical director, Dr. Jorge, arrogantly walks around like he's 'Mr. Big Shot' not working. He sits around with the Spanish speaking nurses and carries on long conversations in Spanish, which we find to be rude and very disrespectful. He doesn’t get any work done & tries to bribe people by buying them food after he knows that he has done wrong. He has zero respect for the staff & his work ethnic with the inmates are horrible. He acts as if he clueless and don’t know anything about medical. He sits at the table for an hour or two before actually starting the work day. Our staff is watched like a hawk with our time, yet he does no work & wastes time every day.



 









There is no level of respect given by our administration. The administration are rude and feel as if they can talk to people any way they choose. Particularly, we're referring to RN Ester, the D.O.N. She gets very loud in front of everyone & makes some of us nurses feel very cut down. You can’t say how you really feel because we know that there are repercussions. She's always saying,"All hell no!" & cursing. She's always letting everyone know that she's the boss and she can say whatever she likes, to whomever she likes. How professional is that?



 









We know we can’t trust Human Resources. When a repersenitive came down to our facilities from HR to speak with the staff members, everything we said got back to Paula. So, why should we attempt to contact HR?



 









There is entirely to much gossiping from the administration & NO confidentiality. We constantly hear about issues with other staff members, their write-ups, suspensions, or even if they are getting fired before they even know!! Why does every conversation that Paula has at staff meetings always start with, "At Manatee County, we use to do things this way...At Manatee we use to do things that way...We ran Manatee with this number of staff members..." If things functioned so well at Manatee, then why don’t you all still have the contract Paula? Paula does not have good management skills whatsoever. We constantly hear her go on about changes that are going to be made & she's been saying that for a year. Are there any changes yet?



 

 









We the staff are still puzzled & our minds are boggled as to why we had two parties to celebrate getting the Arizona contract twice. We have yet to hear if we passed our inspection, but yet we can celebrate others? How professional is that?



 









The moral is way down due to the fact that administration hires anyone and everyone including drunks & drug addicts. We have had more nurses getting fired for unprofessional & personal relationships with inmates. What happened to sitting down and conducting interviews? What happened to sitting down and giving them the ins & outs of the jail? What happened to properly training staff?



 









Why do we need two administrative assistants? We work hard only to be cut down, but it's in the budget to have an additional Administrative Assistant? They made a position for Stan as an administaion assistant & the job was never even posted. There were several non-clinical employees that were qualified for that position that were unable to apply due to non-posting. What is his job? What does he do? Oh, yeah, he sleeps!!! A few staff members have walked in when he covered for Sharon and he was nodding off & sleeping. But, again, where is the fairness? Don’t you think that position, or time, should be used for more staffing for nurses? After all we, are the ones that are doing all of the work.



 









There needs to be some major changes or this company will be left with no one . There are so many of unanswered questions & concerns & issues that need to be voiced...We are not confident that we will get any resolution or solutions to our problems.
