I bought a mattress at a warehouse in Altamonte Springs owned by Scott Day at
furnishahome.com on June 15, 2011.
After the first few months, I noticed it wasnt as comfortable as it was when I first bought the mattress. Thought maybe its just me due to a spinal injury. By November it was like sleeping sitting up as the bed has a serious sagging on both sides of the bed with a big hump down the middle. Made turning over impossible for me, as I always had to climb up a hill. The material surrounding it is still in perfect shape.
On Nov 22, 2011 I called the company I bought it from - furnishahome.com. I was asked to send a picture of the mattress and he would get back with me. That was the first time I had to strip the bed for nothing. When I called back, I got an answering machine, left a few messages. To this day I never heard from them again.
In January, I had to have a major surgery. [continued below]....
..... When I was able to I do the research on the mattress to find the manufacturer, and finally found it, I called and explained the problem. They in turn sent me a packet via email of things I needed to do to start a claim. Completing it was quite a challenge, but I did it and sent it in via fax on May 10, 2012. I have been dealing Joleen Hayes, a customer service representative with Corsicama Bedding Inc. I have 17 emails and 12 phone calls and ripped the bed apart 4 more times (which included moving the furniture to get to the bottom) trying to get a new mattress as was approved by a supervisor, but now she insists that someone to come to my house
to inspect the mattress. That is fine, but no one has shown up, or called me since May 25th. I have written Joleen and keep getting the same story, someone from the Bartow plant will be over to inspect the mattress.
July 23rd and I am back where I started from, and still no closer to getting this resolved, I have spent a many hours on something that should have been taken care of back in November. I have since bought a new mattress, as the Corsicana mattress was too painful to sleep on any longer. It has been standing against the wall in the office. I am no longer interested in a new mattress from Corsicana, nor do I ever want to deal with this company again. I want and deserve a refund at this point, but if they will only give me a new mattress, it is better than having a broken one.
I have submitted additional photos once again to Corsicana showing the defect is indeed deeper than 1 1/2 inches. Some areas are deeper than 2 1/2-3 inches. I have sent every photo Joleen had asked for. I do not own a truck to deliver the mattress to her for inspection, as she now said I need to do, which is over 1000 miles away and should not be my responsibility to pay for a truck, the gas, someone to load and more of my time to get this resolved. Corsicana is a nationwide company and if they need to inspect the mattress further then Corsicana should make the arrangements to do so. After all the hours I have invested in trying to get this resolved, Corsicana should foot the bill for any other investigations that they see needed. I have found that my time does not matter to them, they will keep taking it away hoping I will give up before they actually do something to fix the situation.
August 10th. The photos I have sent have been exactly what Joleen has asked for and was accepted by her supervisor. I have sent the exact photos that she has requested, but evidently they are still not good enough for Joleen. Later decided she was going to have someone come to my house and I accepted that also. They did not do as they said they were going to do, not to my fault and she still thinks like I have something to hide. If that were the case, I would not have said it was ok for a Corsicana rep to come to my house. There has been a problem since before November with the mattress and Corsicana refuses to honor their warranty. They have lied and have cheated me out of a bed that was under warranty when I first started this claim and was forced to buy another mattress with my own money. At this point Joleen said the only way she is going to honor the warranty is when I rent a truck out of my pocket and deliver the mattress to Corsicana and then pay for the shipping of the mattress. If I do all that she said I need to do, it will cost me more than 5 times the price I paid for the mattress as it already has cost me for all my time trying to get this resolved. Joleen has spent all this time making me go in circles to avoid giving me a new mattress. And Corsicana has failed to take appropriate action for this problem Joleen has created to show the company does honor their warranties.
I have called an attorney, but the fees would be more than the cost of the mattress so they suggested contacting you. I hope that you can help me as I am disabled and this has been nothing but a headache and I just cant fight it anymore.
