In June 2012 we had a surveillence system installed by Cottonwood Security Products, sometimes going by the name Cottonwood Security Solutions. Zach French is the one who installed the system and is as of today the registered agent of the company.

We had a security storm door installed by his father Bob French many years ago and we had confidence in the company. That was my first mistake. I work in Texas and wanted to have a surveillance system that I could see my home on my computer when my wife was in Texas visiting me. I requested a quote on their website for a wireless 8 camera system. My wife was not aware of what exactly I had ordered, just knew I was ordering a surveillance system for the home. She was home when Zach installed the outside cameras and he looked like he knew what he was doing so she left Zach there to finish his job. When she got home there were wires strung all over the house. BLACK wires on white walls and ceiling. She called Zach and said this was not going to work and the cable needed to be covered or changed to white cable. I came home to visit in July, and I walked into cable dangling from the ceiling taped there with duct tape. After I went back to Texas to work, Zach came and covered the cable with WHITE DUCT TAPE. White duct tape!! I finally decided I would cover the cable myself when I came home the next time in December.

The equipment worked only for a few hours at a time and then it would need repair. Could not see it on my computer in Texas as I was supposed to. Zach came to fix the system at least 10 times in 6 months. Finally I had had enough and asked for my money back. I could get no response from Zach. The system was not working, there was duct taped cables all over my house and Zach would not respond. I finally had to call an attorney that gave me another company that did surveillance cameras to come look at why the system was not working. He found out that the networked system was done wrong and the system had the wrong cameras. He also was amazed to see all the cable duct taped to the walls and ceiling. He said homes normally had all cable run outside the house and then through the wall where any camera would be. DVR and main box should have been mounted in the garage storage room. I had this company remove the system, cables and cameras and had the attorney send a letter to Cottonwood Security demanding my money back.

I am presently sueing in Small Claims Court. I have a website at www.cottonwoodsecurityproducts.com which shows pictures of the job Cottonwood Security Products AKA Cottonwood Security Solutions did on my home.
