I have read what others here have writen and sadly I too think it is true. Sadly for me I did not get out early like others. I wish I would have found this page a long long time ago

I have been with them for over a year and have payed them thousands of dollars. I have settled only one of my five accounts at a decent amount. It was settled at about 50%. I settled another but it was nearly 90% and it was only because I pushed them to settle the account for me. I am now starting to pay off another account which they say I am settling for around 60% but it is really about 80% of what I owed when I started at credit solutions. I still have two outstanding accounts and one is large and growing all the time. I had the chance to settle it at 50%, but they wanted it all in one payment and within like a week so I could not do it. Now that account is at 80% in two payments which I cant pay either. The settlement person told me that she knew this would happen and that she said I should have payed it at 50%.

I think they think I have tons of cash hiden in the mattress or something because they call with these "great deals" and think I should be happy to put out 4 months income in one day.

Another issue I have that has been reported here is that you talk to someone different every time and they are all calling you even though you wanted to settle one account and hold off on the one they want to settle. Its not possible to settle them all at once, but they dont understand that. I will probably only settle one account for 50% or less, the rest will be around 80% or higher. They promised at first 40 to 60% but they sure are not coming through. They also said it could be payed off over 4 years, but a little over a year now and Im getting threats to go to court already. I feel lied to and have no ideal how to get out of this.

Someone stated that some states dont allow this kind of operation? Which ones, I hope I live in one so I can sue them. I would love to get my money back that they have not earned.

Also someone here is a former employee of them. Is it true that the major credit cards do not let you settle over longer periods of time, but want it all in a few payments? That is what I get told all the time.
I feel ripped off and would love suggestions from anyone here on how to deal with this (in a legal manor of course). Will the creditors still deal with me after going so long without paying them? Thanks.

Debt Settlement Companies

AUTHOR: X - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 07, 2007

There seem to be new "Debt Settlement Companies" popping up every day. Creditors are sick and tired of these companies and have taken different approaches to dealing with these CSA, Option One, Freedom Debt Relief, etc. Citibank (The largest bank in the US) has now adopted the practice of sending accounts off for legal action if they are notified you are with a debt settlement company.

Several other banks are moving in the same direction, refusing to deal with these useless companies. Now you have "Debt settlement law firms" such as Seideman or Hess, they don't do anything differently than the debt settlement companies. The lawyers don't actually settle your debt, they have reps that work for them. I guess there are too many players in the personal injury market so they decided to move on to debt settlement. I have several years of experience in different areas of financial service, and there is nothing these companies can do that you can't do yourself.

Getting Money back

AUTHOR: Ex Manager - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 26, 2007

I was at one time a Manager with this company. It does do some people good, but it can all be done by yourself. All they really do is put you on a budget while paying them a lot of money you don't have at the same time asking you not to pay your bills. This makes all your rates go up usually to end up owing twice as much when you started to settle for 50%. Well this is the amount owed originally but hurting your credit score tremendously. They don't tell you not to pay because it's illegal and if they did remember the time and date of call they have them all recorded. But, they tell you no one will settle if you are paying them hinting the obvious.

To get to the point and get your money back you need to file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General if necessary but at least the BBB. They always satisfy all complaints with the BBB. And when they try and strong arm you, stand your ground and refuse to settle, ask that all fees paid be returned or until satisfied.

Try not to get angry on the phone which will be difficult as most employees there are completely ignorant in their own line of work especially the Customer Service Department. You may not get it all but try and hopefuly they will do something. Major credit cards want the total settlement in typically 4 payments, which takes people years to save especially the big ones. Citi will not settle. Please reply with any questions I probably know more than anyone working there.
