Cricket is now going to a new plan scheme, they offer higher bandwith speeds but you will be limited by amount of data you can recieve/send.

I purchased a new modem last week and they didnt say a word about the new change my plan was unlimited im likely out the money i payed for the modem. When going to pay my bill they route you to the customer service desk to select a plan, in other words my original agreement is now void by default, and they now offer same speed connect with a couple amounts of data sendable and recieveable, after you reach that limit your speed will decrease to about that of a dial up service. While they arent hiding this fact they are deceptive in the manner that they explain the change. And you may not continue the unlimited account without a huge fee.

This policy of slowing your speed down has and was in effect in the old service as well, they just failed to tell anyone about it. If you had the old service an noticed the first few days it was really speedy and then suddenly it wasnt... it was cricket, I trie several times to show them where the speed problem was created by them but they refused to acknolwedge it or do anything about it. So for the record, Cricket never had an unlimited account it was a total fake and tom foolery to get you to use them.

In short cricket has never been honest about their service and will likely never be. As a consumer most folks dont know how to determine the amount of data they use and will thus be chugging along at the reduced speed. I suggest that anyone using the service find another way. If you havent tried before, when you do call to complain about it, you will have to be creative to get past the recorded customer service section of crickets service number, as you will be disconnected many times.

I like honesty in a service i pay good money for... Cricket doesnt even come close, to top it off my phone service included 15$ in flex bucket funds monthly free of charge, after complaining about my bill amount repeatedly i found that they were charging me 20$ a month extra for minutes i didnt and never knew or asked for. And they're excuse was that someone had called them and changed my account to that extra charge, but they couldnt tell me who called, where they called from or that they verified the change with me. Cricket is a joke and my service and time has and will be cut first thing tomorrow. I will cherish the time i dont spend trying to correct and deal with the dishonesty and poor business they so halfassed provide.

All in the fine print

I got the Cricket broadband service about one year ago. All promotional material in the stores and online had a small print notice about the limit. It stated that the service might be slowed down if you go beyond it. I signed up with full knowledge of what was going on. I don't feel there was any surprises with this.

It's considered "unlimited" because unlike most other services, you are not charged anything when you go beyond the set limit for the service plan. Other companies will charge you when you go beyond the allocated limits of the plan. Cricket is simply slowing your transfer rates when you've reached the amount you've paid for. I just checked their web site, and it is explained on the broadband page in normal sized text.
