CRS/LLS Inc. And Josh Abreu Magazine Salesmen Scam! Aubrey Texas

Two guys came to my door about an hour ago. The one who did all the tallking was Josh Abreu. He explained how they were trying to win a trip to Cancun by selling magazine subs (actually at first he joked that they would do chores for me) door to door and were trying to beat the girls who were also doing this in a competition.

When Josh said he was from California and working his way towards New York and picked up the other guy that was with him (who barely spoke) in St. Louis, I started to get suspicious. They were trying to get me to do two magazine subs for over 100 dollars!

I explained I could get subs much cheaper on the Internet so then he said he would give me the 'renewal rate' of $36. Stupidly, I wrote the check which I will be stopping payment on on Monday! Also, just like other victims of this guy, he tried to get cash first saying he got double points for cash (and he showed me all the cash he'd already collected today---I feel really sorry for those people :( ).

Here's the most interesting part: I told these guys when I was writing the check "You realize as soon as you leave, I'm googling your name and company and if this is a scam, I'm calling the police." That's when he wrote the Customer Service # which I also became suspicious of because it wasn't an 800 number and he started showing me his ID (which is from Texas, at least the one he showed me) and his tattoo with his last name and just pretty much making himself look more and more obvious.

As soon as they left, I googled and called the police. The police were VERY interested in catching these guys! I'm sure they're long gone now from my city now but I thought I'd share my story!
