Jim King, Owner of a so-called fraudulent "Family Business" named "Custom Creations Unlimited" - who operates a deceptive photo beach towel and photo beach blanket business and (other) photographic product reproduction "portal" business from his home - ripped off our Museum in New York City using deceptive trade practices, overcharging us grossly on UPS fees and showed zero remorse for his actions. BEWARE of ordering through this online "portal" - you will LOSE YOUR MONEY or get substandard cheap product. One look at his website design from 1997 makes it clear this is amateur night.

We ordered $280.00 worth of historical photographic products for our 9/11 Nonprofit Museum and received GARBAGE. Blurred images, smeared inks. The $300 bill he quoted us ballooned to $433.39 when he tacked on goofy charges like a "shadow box mount" for some images printed on aluminum even though he said initially those were included. Lies. Then we found out he charged us a whopping UPS Charge of $152.89. Later we asked why he didn't just send it 2-day air and he said he felt it was best to overnight it. The Total weight of the package was 5 lbs. It does NOT cost $152.00 to overnight a 5lb package. We were in the middle of other projects & not paying close attention at the time. We should have. After some digging and questioning we found out that his purported "Family Business" (Custom Creations) he claims to operate (to create a false image of a down-home friendly family making things by hand) is a load of lies - Custom Creations Unlimited is actually just a portal - Jim King, who is quite rude and monotone on the phone - portals his jobs out to assorted low-quality manufacturers who then ship the product to you. He offers no refund, is rude and says over & over again, "I'm not going to let you tell me how to run my business." It is laughable.

Trying to reason and appeal to Jim King's conscience is an exercise in futility. Jim King will lie and fabricate whatever he needs to in order to make himself "right." Trying to get a refund and make him part with one red penny of the money he fraudulently bilks out of unsuspective victims is a waste of time. Custom Creations overcharges MASS AMOUNTS OF MONEY on UPS Charges to secure more profit and King will TELL YOU if it is going overnight or 2nd day air. A modern day bully and snake oil salesman who portals his mechandise orders out to cheap manufacturers who make bad photographic reproductions. There is no "family business" here folks. At the end of the day, we had to chalk it up to a loss. A lesson learned but we want others to learn from this.

We never did business with this guy!

AUTHOR: Custom Creations Unlimited, Inc - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, April 30, 2015

I did have a conversation with Marlon from the Committee for Ground Zero Museum Workshop about some products he wanted for a business presentation. That part is true. However, we never did business together. He did not order $280 of anything, we did not ship him anything and we did not bill him for any UPS charges.

He had a very tight deadline of just four business days from the day he initially contacted my company. All of our products are custom printed with a normal production time of 5-7 business days plus shipping time. To accommodate his deadline, I was going to rush production and ship Second Day or Next Day, as needed. Unfortunately, Marlon did not send his images by the agreed upon deadline. When we talked after the deadline, he kept promising to email them right away.

He was very upset when I told him we didn't have enough time to produce, ship and deliver by his deadline. That's when he told me he'd "spend $3000 of his own money and ruin my business". This creative writing is the result of that threat.

To be clear, Marlon never spent a dime with my company and never received any of our products. I would liked to have done business with him. His photos were great and the opportunity to supply the Ground Zero Museum would have been wonderful.
