I told him all my illnesses he says to me I'M NOT GOING TO FILL THESE UNTIL I TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. I said what do you mean you filled them last month and the month before that.He say's well yeah I know but I WANT TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR PAIN REGIMENT. Now their was nothing wrong with my prescription if he's not a doctor why would i have to tell him my condition and why would he question what my doctor is doing with me. I politely took my prescriptions and left the store.I think Christan went to far not only was I in pain I felt discriminated aganist.

You are mistaken

AUTHOR: Really - (USA)

If the person you dealt with was the pharmicist, then he or she is in fact a doctor.  If it takes an M.D. to prescribe medication, why wouldn't it take a doctor to fill them.  That is why pharmicist are able to give advice in regards to over the counter medication and such.  Granted, it could have been a pharmacy tech that you dealt with.  A pharmancy tech is kinda like the nurse equvilent.  They can't prescribe medication, but they can deal it to a patient.  That is why many drug stores hire pharmacy techs because it is impossable to hire that many pharmicistis and it helps keep costs down.  Think of it this way; have you ever gone to a drug store for a flu shot and they told you that you had to wait?  That is because a pharmicist is able to administer them since they are an actual doctor; but they cannot leave the area if there are drug bottles open behind the counter.

Reasonable

There are many new safeguards relating to pain meds and they have to be very careful.

If you are legitimate, you should have no problem at all with him checking with your doctor.  In fact you should be glad he did, it says he's being diligent and is doing his job.

Nothing Wrong

AUTHOR: Katie - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, April 27, 2015

I used to work for a medical answering service, pharmacists call to verify prescriptions all the time, it's a very common practice. It's incredible how many fraudulent prescriptions they get. They can get in a lot of trouble if they don't double check prescriptions that appear suspicious.

Huh???

Did you have a refill available???? The pharmacist has the duty to call the physician about any early refills if that is what you tried to do.  As for your explanation of your "illnesses" they are PHARMACISTS not DRS!.  And I suggest you look up the word "discrimination".

FYI -  "Now their was nothing wrong with my prescription if he's not a doctor why would i have to tell him my condition and why would he question what my doctor is doing with me" - You STATED you told him all about your "illnesses"!  Sounds more like you wanted a narcotic ie: a controlled substance without a Drs approval.
