Hello. About a month ago I started a project with dallas pro web designers and they said my total was $2000 and I had 4 months to pay this. One of their employees, Clayton talked to me and said that my classifieds site piccabu would be done in 2 weeks. Then he transferred me to on of their developers, Shawn Prendergast. Shawn asked me to transfer the first months payment of $500 so he can start my project. He sent me an email with a paypal link and I payed him. After 2 weeks was up there was no update from pro web solutions. I spent hours gathering up ideas for my website and emailed them all to him. I wasn't seeing much progress and I paid them another $500 from paypal so they would hurry up with it.

After a month I emailed I paypaled him another $295 because he said he would finish by the next day. I waited a week and called him but he never answered his phone. When I called the dallas pro web designers David Alford the ceo of DWPD answered the phone and when I asked him if i could speak to shawn, he said I fired him. I asked him so who will work on my website and he said "I never got the money, I fired Shawn and Clayton because they were stealing my customers." He is saying that his employees never gave the company money to him and I am responsible for that. He said that I am not dallas pro web designers customer and he said I can go to hell. This is not fair. I worked for a year to get this money saved for this website. This was my dream and it got shattered. Please help I am working on trying to take them to court but I just don't have enough money to hire a attorney. Please help  youll are my only hope. :-(

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

David Alford

AUTHOR: Clayton Huff - (United States of America)

Another example of why this company should be shut down.  David Alford did not have a paypal account and owed the developer money so hes making an excuse that the customer is wrong.  What goes around comes around.

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

The gentleman called our office and has obviously gotten us mistaken with someone else. We have no record of him making any payments to this company, nor do we have any type of signed or unsigned for that matter contract, agreement or even a sales lead, invoice or receipt from this person regarding his project. He obviously paid someone through paypal and we do not even use pay pal here, never have and never will. He is receiving a letter notifying him to remove this within 10 business days or will be sued and fined the amount of $2500.00. Regardless even if he did hire us he would have had to sign a terms of service stating that exactly what he has done here is not permitted regardless of the circumstances, and if one chooses to do so then they are required to pay a slander fine no less than $2500. The terms of service we use is iron clad, and fortunately we have never had to use it on anyone but it is backed by the law and will stand in any court. I am really sorry this young man has had this happen to him but to slander a party who has nothing to do with it is very illegal. So unless he can show some sort of agreement outlining all these accusations or some sort of email showing even our logo or my signature or even anyone that works for us then this needs to be removed immediately. Also when the kid called implying that we were the ones he paid he also told me he had just done the same thing with another company or individual using a pay pal account and was still disputing it. So maybe this person is some sort of scammer or something. the whole thing seems a little fishy to me.

Small claims

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, February 04, 2010

About the best you could do is sue them in small claims court. No lawyer required.  You'd have to file in Dallas, so I don't know if that would be worth it for you.

The Texas bar has a guide for filing in small claims court :
