David Mitchel Singer, Donnalee Bucci-Singer & Childhelp Maui Chapter ...stole $25k charitable cash donation to Childhelp Wailuku Hawaii

In August of last year, I met a man and woman who seemed really genuine, sincere and credible. Their names, David and Donnalee Singer. Now I met them through a friend of mine of whos name I will not disclose at a luncheon when he introduced us to the Singers.

They seemed decent, genuine and sincere people. Mr. Singer seemed very businesslike and displayed a compassionate and motivated person; Mrs. Singer displayed a sincere and sweet like character, sometimes being occasionally comical. They both had told me things about how they owned a 200 acre macadamia nut orchard in the wailuku area; owning a company called Waiehu Aina; how they are landlords that own Wailuku Buildings on the same street we were having lunch on, as well as cabins in which they rent to prospective tenants; being best friends with Mick Fleetwood and Steven Tyler; and also they run an organization called Child Help located in Maui of which both Steven Tyler and Mick Fleetwood was apart of the Childhelp organization. At first, I was skeptical but as time went on, Mr. Singer had showed me paperwork that seemed legitimate while Mrs. Singer kept on raving about their charitible contributions to their organization as well as the heavy involvement of Mick Fleetwood's time in this organization.

Now I checked it out on my iPad and Childhelp is a legitimate organization which did in fact announce the Grand Opening of Fleetwood's in Lahaina, Maui and mentioned David Singer as being the Maui Chapter President. Now, Mr Singer was looking for donations and in exchange for donations they would invite all donators' to the Grand Opening of Fleetwood's on August 23, 2012 and meet the Childhelp organizers, Mr. Fleetwood and Steven Tyler; and stated to me that any person who donates $15k or more will automatically be on the Board of Directors for Childhelp Maui Chapter. I was so moved by their convincing compassion for their organization, I decided to donate to their worthy cause. Mr. Singer mentioned that tickets to the event would be from $350.00 to $500.00, the $500 being the VIP. But as soon as I took out my checkbook, Mr. Singer had mentioned that it would be better to donate cash instead of a check due to Childhelp not yet having a bank account set up here in Maui since the organization was new, meanwhile Mrs. Singer had stated that they wont be able to cash the check since the organizers did not add them to their "bank authorization". Mr. Singer took out a piece of paper and wrote his name, contact number and a sentence that says,"Mr. **** ******* and his guest are guests of the Singers for the Grand Oprening of Fleetwoods on August 23, 2012." Mr. Singer had stated to me that he did not yet receive the tickets and will get them to me as soon as they come in.

Im a business man, I did my due diligence and they checked out. After all, the organization's website did in fact list Mr. Singer's name as the Chapter president and the DCCA did in fact have Mr. and Mrs. Singer as being members of a Waiehu Aina LLC. The very next day, I went to my bank withdrew funds and contacted Mr. Singer. He and his wife had met with me for lunch where I gave them a monetary cash donation in the amount of $20k to their Childhelp organization and another $1000.00 for two VIP tickets for my wife and I. In exchange, Mr. Singer stated to me that he will get me the paperwork for me to be added as a Board Member and Mrs. Singer wrote out a receipt on a piece of paper apologizing that she did not have her receipt book on her, which was fine by me since I had nothing to worry about, at that time. Mr. Singer also stated that he may not be able to get the tickets in time to the Fleetwood event and told me for my wife and I to just show up and will have our names added to the list of VIP guests. With that, we parted ways until August 23, 2012.

On August 23, 2012 my wife and I were excited to go to the event. We flew in, drove to Lahaina and went to see the doorman and told him my name which in turn, he pulled out a clip board and looked for my name. It was not in the list of guests. I asked him to look again, which he showed me the clip board which confirmed that my name was not on the list. I asked the doorman to get Mr. Singer and let him know that I was here. After 3 minutes have passed, the doorman returns and says to me that Mr. Singer is not here and that I will have to wait until he arrives. So we did. My wife and I waited.

While we waited, we saw people going into the restaurant, many people except Mr. and Mrs. Singer. almost 2 hours went by until we approached the doorman again and had asked him to please and go find either David or Donnalee Singer. He came back 20 minutes later saying that they were not here, but the event had already started over an hour ago, which we could hear Steven Tyler singing Dream On. I was furious! We could not get in, we donated $25k to Mr. Singer in cash, but we also gave him $1000.00 for 2 VIP tickets, we flew in just for this event, rented a car and a hotel all for nothing!

The next day, I called and called Mr. Singer and he did not pick up my calls, it all went to voice mail. Since August til now, the Singer's refused to take my calls. I even called Childhelp main office and no one returned my calls, not once. I had my secretary do extensive research and had found that Mr. and Mrs. Singer had filed for Bankruptcy not once but twice! Once in 2007 and this time in 2010, both under different company names. In April of 2010, they filed for Bankruptcy under their company Waiehu Aina LLC which ended on November 2, 2012, in which they owed borrowed money from investors around $1.6 million; and on January 24, 2007 the Singer's filed for Bankruptcy after borrowing $420k from a bank when they did not want to pay it back under their other company name at the time, Mill Street Management LLC. I even had called the IRS and Hawaii Tax Department, which verified that no income reporting have been filed by the Singer's company after I gave them my information and my hefty charitable donation I gave to the Singer's. I even found that he is suing his tenants in court for landlord-tenant disputes on the hawaii state judiciary website. After seeing and hearing all of this, I was floored with myself. I was duped by a Con man and his wife. I gave the Singer's cash. CASH! Believing that they were so sincere and credible. How can a person use a charitable organization like Childhelp for their own financial gain?

I can never get that money back. He refuses to take my calls, and his attorney never returns my calls. I still have my bank withdrawal statement, and the piece of paper they gave me. The $26k donation really doesn't bother me as it is a drop in the bucket for my wife and I. But, it is how and what they did to get it from us. They lied, manipulated and used their organization to lure me into donating this money to a worthy cause.

To everyone that reads this, please turn away from these people. David Mitchel Singer and Donnalee Bucci-Singer of Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. Their company name is Waiehu Aina LLC and their charitable organization is Childhelp Maui. 

I hope that Childhelp CEO and founder Sara O'Meara, Mick Fleetwood and even Steven Tyler would take a good look at the Singer's. Where is my $25k donation? Did Childhelp receive my donation? Did Fleetwood get my $1k I paid for my tickets? Did the Singer's pocket my contribution? And who the h**l is checking up on the Singer's past and present activities?
