===================== Davison & Associates Invention Company Stole $1685 from me Ripoff Thieves Crooks Beware Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
To anyone considering using Davison for a product idea:
I am so disappointed in myself after reading this website because I should have done all this research before being suckered in by Davison. I am laughing hysterically at the fact that one company can have so many "Director of New Products"...my "Director of New Products". The funny thing is the first time I called, the receptionist had never heard of him!!! Then, when I said his title and asked how she could not know someone in this position she stated that she was "new to the company and still learning names".
Anyway, like many of the rest of you, I sent in the original $685 and when they had "secured a Manufacturer" for my idea they sent me photos of the companies other items they had manufactured. None of the products even had logos and looked like they were from the Dollar Store. When I questioned Mr. about this, I was told that the company removes all identifying information and it's for "demonstration" purposes only. Needless to say, Mr. seemed very educated and always kept all of our phone appointments, etc.
After sending me the document with the 4 choices of payment, I told him that I could not afford any of these options and he advised me that with just $1,000 they could "hold my spot" but he was meeting with the CEO that day and he needed the money wired. I sent over the $1,000 and have received multiple phone calls from him since then to see about the rest of the payment and if we could "proceed with the project". I got my tax return today and wrote Davison a check for all of the $3,000 I recieved and sent it out in the mail today. Of course, I am stopping payment first thing in the morning (THANK GOD for this website).
The news gets worse! I repeatedly told this man that I was a full-time student with two kids and we were living paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet, at which time he assured me that when my product got picked up (and they would go to "as many Manufacturers as it takes") that I wouldn't have to worry about money any longer. My husband (who believes in my idea greatly) and I went this week and got a home equity loan on our house to pay for the rest of the $12,000 it was going to take for this to be manufactured. It cost us $2,700 in closing costs to get this done so we are out that money also!
I haven't had a chance to speak with Davison or Mr. as they are closed already but let me tell you, I have several things to say and I am going to try my darndest to get a refund of at least the majority of my money. Even if I don't, I can thank the Good Lord that I found this website and did not get spend my home equity money on this! How can a company allow someone to mortgage their home for something like this with no guilt!?!?! I told this man, Mr., that I would have to take out this loan and he said "it would be well worth it in the long run". If any of you want to file a class action lawsuit against them maybe we can find a way to do it.
