I worked for a short while at Denali Executives and ultimately left because I couldn't make the time commitment. You are told that a work day is 11-8. Not awful, right? You may be making upwards of $600 a week! However, once you start they start bringing you in earlier and earlier and you don't actually leave the office until 8:30pm. You are finished "in the field" at 8:00pm. The first day I worked I was told "come in at 10:30am". I talked with other employees and they said that there were meetings that they needed to attend as early at 9:00am.
Quickly, you 11-8 schedule turns to 10-9. Simply put, too many hours for me to put in at a commission based only job. Rebuttal I got from the owner, Glenn Cunningham? "Serving is a commission based job." Yes, but I know people are going to come into the place I work as a server and want food. I am going Door to Door selling AT&T U-Verse to people who are not asking for it.
Follow up to this Door to Door selling?
"Q: Is this a Door to Door Campaign?
A: No, Since U-Verse is very limited and is available to less than half of the state we would be wasting our time knocking on random doors all over the city. AT&T actually pre-screens and pre-qualifies a specific set of leads for our reps to use. Our reps know exactly who they are talking to and where they are going before they engage a potential customer."
This proves the point I wanted to make exactly. This company misleads potential employees. Yes, AT&T pre-screens and pre-qualifies people for reps to use. However, those people still are not asking for AT&T U-Verse! Often we are getting the names of people to update their listing in the paperwork AT&T provides as well as marking off houses that don't exist (either vacant lots or no address possible places).
If you want to work long hours and potentially make a lot of money, go for it. I was mislead in the hours and that is the ultimate reason I decided to quit. The two days I was on the job I only witnessed two sales (amount to roughly $150) and I put in about 20 hours. It just wasn't worth my time.
