In November of 2009 I purchased a 2004 Sequioa Toyota from Desert Toyota. What was supose to be a happy day turned out to be my worse nightmare. I was told that this vechle had all new parts put on such as tires, breaks and was certified pre-owned. I was very happy what I heard about this vechle and thought it be perfect for me and my 2 children so we bought it with a platnum care package just to be safe. We left Desert Toyota and half way home going about 55mph I notice the vehicle started shaking well I was appling the brakes. I was very concerned and didnt think it was normal for an suv to shake that bad to were it felt like the car was falling apart. I got home and called Lee Moore from the survice department at Desert Toyota and expressed my concern of what I had experienced with this vehicle. Mr. Moore told me to bring it back the next day that all the vechle needed was to be aligned. I told him great ill see him tomorrow for the allignment. I went to Desert Toyota to get the allignment as agreed apon. After getting the allignment I was assured everything was fine so I left. Well the problem didnt stop I called Lee Moore back telling him that the allignment didnt help the vechle was still shaking. He told me its normal its a suv all suv and trucks shake everything is just fine. So I believed him and continued to drive the suv. A couple weeks later well driving the break lights came on. I called back to Desert Toyota and someone was supose to call me back. It took 1 week for someone to answer my call, I told them not only was the automobile still shaking but now the break lights were coming on. I was told again there was nothing wrong everything was just fine. So again I listened to them I didnt think they would give me false information. I started having more problems with the vechle it was having trouble starting like it was alittle slow so I called Mr. Moore and he made and appointment to test the battery. I went to Desert Toyota to get the battery check and found out the vechle came with a battery that had dead cells. I told them it was not my responsiblity I was sold a bad battery, they told me there was nothing they could do that I would have to pay for it outta my own pocket not even the platum coverage took care of it. Lee Moore adviced me to go to Wal-Mart to get a battery cause they were cheaper then toyota offered. So I took Mr. Moores recamendation and went to Wal-Mart. I noticed on the side of the drivers seat that there was peices missing. So I called Desert Toyota telling them that they sold me a vechle with missing parts, they said no problem will put an order in for you for the parts. It took almost 3 to 4 months to get my missing parts and they told me over and over they had to reorder the parts. After 3 to 4 months i got the parts. In the summertime I took myself and my family to the mall to spend family time the automobile still shook but worse. My 16 year old son wanted to stay in the car i gave him the keys to turn on the suv to get air since Arizona can get up to 120 degrees. I thought I didnt wanna leave my son in the car so I went back to tell him to come in with us but he could open the doors. The alarm on the suv kept going off, He couldnt even open the locks from the inside or with the keys. It was getting hotter outside and I was freaking out and so was my son. He tried breaking the windows to get outta the vechle cause he couldnt beathe. I thought i was gonna lose my son that day from heat stroke. Finally the car alarm stopped going off and the car finally opened. I called Desert Toyota telling them what had happened to my son. They didnt show no compassion nothing, They didnt even care to ask how my son was. All they told me was to adjust the locks on the doors and that was it. My Sequioa never got any better it got worse and worse as months past on shaking I keep calling kept making appointments and still was told nothing was wrong. I called back to Desert Toyota to claim my free inspection since I was making my way home back to Pennsylvania. I asked them to check everything underneath if the bolt held underneath that they place on cause the underneath was dragging. If they could check my breaks, roters, and brakepads. Tires, suspension the works I wanted my family and I to be safe. I also complained when you hit a bump on the road it sounded like the trunk was flying open. Lee Moore said theyll check everything. Im suprise he had gotten back to me since for 2 weeks he ignored my phone calls. I got a paper from Mr Moore stating everything was fine on the vechle I was good to go. A couple days before I left to Pa  I had a gut feeling that something was not right with my suv. I called 2 other Toyota companies asking if they knew why it was shaking they said it sounds like your roters are worped. I called back to Lee Moore telling him if he deffently checked over everything he assured me everything was checked everything was fine. I told him a talked to 2 other people about what was happening and he admided that the roters were worped.I asked him why he didnt inform me about this when I asked him. Mr Moore told me just to bring it now and theyll take a look at it. He offered to put the roters on the machine for 200 dollars but they would only charge me 100 cause they cut the roters wrong they went from 29m to 27m. I told him I have that kinda money I bearly had the money to get myself back home for surgery. Then Lee Moore told me they couldnt do anything cause my Sequioa was uncertified. I said what? what do you mean that its uncertified. He showed myself and my son the screen of the computer showing 2004 Sequioa Toyota uncertified. Lee Moore said if youll make it home on the roters. I took myself and my family and left I had enough with them. They ripped me off and took me for everything i got. I contacted the General Manger Bob Rockov and expressed how badly I was upset and I wanted something done and they should fix this it wasnt my responsibliy for buying a bad uncertified suv. He laughed in my face and got very rude to me. I told him he was going to fix it and hung up. Bob called me back and treatened bodly harm on myself and my 18 year old daughter. He told us we are no longer welcomed to Desert Toyota dont come back they werent going to fix my car. I made it back to Pennsylvania and I was going shopping with my family. It sounded like my motor was going to explode it was making such a stange noise. I was getting really worried and the sound got louder it felt like my steering wheel was going one way and my tire was going another. In a matter of 5 mins my drive wheel ripped off along with 3 bolts. I watched my tire fly down the highway as the suv slammed on the road and my breakes locked up. I had no controll. The suv finally stopped I had my 74 year old mother, my 16 year old son, my 18 daughter and our pets. Thank god we were all safe we all could have been killed by the neglagence of Desert toyota who refused to do anything about this automobile from the begaining. Desert Toyota could have killed 4 people that day. To anyone buying a car, truck, or suv for your sake n ur families well being dont buy from Desert Toyota.

I count at least THREE studs broken off, That proves the wheels were NEVER removed and checked.I think you have a very good lawsuit against this dealer for NEGLIGENCE, those wheels were NEVER removed and checked.

Just another case of buyer stupidity. No rip off.

You purchased a 5 year old USED vehicle. [NOT "vechle"]. You also purchased the "Platinum Care Package" which could have been used at any licensed repair facility. So why would you keep going back to the same dealer that screwed you??

I'll tell you why. You were too cheap to pay the deductible for the extended warranty authorized repairs. You wanted everything for free from the dealer. They promptly told you it wasn't going to happen. No vehicle warranty covers batteries, except for when you buy a brand new vehicle, most dealerships will warranty the battery for like 30 days directly, after that you have to do the pro-rated mfg warranty.

Now for your "breaks". Your car has BRAKES, not BREAKS. It appears that most of your problem is just lack of common sense mixed with some illiteracy. If you would have done a thorough test drive BEFORE buying the vehicle, you would have found these problems.

No rip off here. Just stupidity.

You were negligent

You never mentioned if you test-drove the vehicle before purchase.

Of course the shaking was directly related to the tires. You continued to go to the same dealer that continued to give you unsatisfactory results. Yes, the dealer lied and cheated you; but you compounded the problem by exercising negligence when you loaded up your family and drove 2-thousand miles across country with what was obviously a serious tire related problem. As the problem continued to get worse, you kept driving without concern for the safety of other motorists.
