I am a military veteran who enrolled at DeVry University (Southfield Michigan) Sept 2010. I used the 9/11 GI bill to pay for my classes. I have now completed the degree concentration of technical management and have graduated.  I have to say this school is the biggest joke I have ever seen. If you have 1/2 a brain and can spell at a 7th grade level you can past this school. In the three years I attended there I can honestly say I have learned nothing I didn't know before attending this school. They are only after your money. They will automatically enroll military vets knowing they will automatically get their money. The instructors are horrible and barely teach, and what they do teach has nothing to do with the class. They will pass anyone as long as you attend class. This school prayed on ignorance. They would enroll black youth from the Detroit area and tell them that they would have a job waiting for them after graduation. This was a lie! I do not recommend this school to anyone unless you are just looking for a way to get the free BAH. I now have a useless degree that your tax dollars paid for...

I agree with you

I agree with you.  Honestly whenever I was about to graduate some years ago, they got me in touch with their career services online, and the rep I was so rude and mean to me. I was like no way. She was a total meanie the whole time.  And then the best they could do is get me in touch with Career builder reps and he did my resume and jacked it all up. No thanks.  Then when I started a second degree program, i told them I been through their career services before, they acted like they didnt hear and the girl finally realized it and hung the phone up and cut me off, never called me back.  Oh and get this, after I signed up for my second degree program, the female rep wanted to get all personal with me, asking me too many personal questions.  I was about to just say forget it, because I don't appreciate anyone getting all in my privacy like that. That's bad. Oh and they lie about your refunds and tuition. If you have a zero balance, and then get your remaining payments from the VA, They will hold it until the next session. So if you're broke, then as a vetearn you're just broke.

Thanks for the auto reply DeVry (still no answer)

That was obviously a auto reply that did not address any of my concerns or questions. How can this school honestly say it's not all about profit. I saw this school automatically enroll me in classes I did not need in order to keep getting funds from the VA. Then when I asked why am I taking these classes they could not come up with a response.

I saw "teachers" say we are not here to teach you this material we are here to collect a pay check. It was a shame. Three years I attended "classes" at DeVry and saw nothing but a business not a school.  And the worst part is the military doesn't even recognized the degree I have "earn/paid for" to become an officer.... What a waste of time. The BAH was the only good thing about tis experience..

It's unfortunate that you feel this way. I know that many of our graduates are really proud of the work they've accomplished, and so are we. In fact, check out the Alumni Association (http://alumni.devry.edu) for some highlights. Have you shared your concerns as outlined in the student handbook? Please send us a message or e-mail us at DeVrySocial@DeVry.edu if you'd like some assistance. Thanks! -Chris, Community Manager
