Last summer I brought my BMW 328i to Diamond Brite Car Wash to have a standard Car Wash and have the Windows Cleaned. I was on my way to work and upon leaving the Car Wash I noticed a long squiggly line carved into my windshield. I knew it wasn't there before I went into the car wash, but being I was now late for work I decided to suck it up, maybe it wasn't so bad and I could live with it. Every day now for a year I have regret not returning to report this damage as it's all I ever see when I look at what was a car I only had for 8 months. Little did I know the regret I would have for returning in almost the exact same situation.

Today Febuary 20th 2006 my girlfriend and I were out celebrating our anniversary when we decided her BMW 330xi which she has had for a week and a half needed a clean. We had been driving all afternoon in the car, I had not noted any damage.

After receiving what Diamond Brite calls the "Quickie Detail" in which they give your car a good wash, vacuum and hand clean the windows we proceeded on our way. The first stop sign we stopped at I noticed what I though was a smear on her window. I reached over to wipe it only to realize it was a huge gouge. Remembering my own experience, I made her quickly turn around and return to Diamond Brite.

I went to get one of the employees to show him the damage and he went to get the owner. In this time I observed two other windows had smaller but very noticeable scratches very similar to the ones on the windshield of my own car.

It was quite obvious the owner had done this before, and upon viewing the damage gave us a halfed a**ed answer that it was on the inside of the car and his machines couldn't have done it. We could tell by his look, we weren't getting anything. We both exclaimed it doesn't matter if it's on the inside, the machines had nothing to do with it. He then responded that if we're going to give him attitude, he wasn't going to help us a couple of times as we all exchanged words. Then I stepped forward and explained it happend during the "quickie detail", our new car was just ruined...and we don't need any of his attitude.

This is about the time I witnessed one of the most childish and irresponsible acts I think I've ever witnessed from a business owner. The owner said fine if that's your attitude I'm not going to help you and stomped off like a child. It was quite obvious he never had any intention of rectifying the issue and was looking for any excuse to get rid of us. We called the police on the spot and made sure a complaint was logged.

Sometimes recommending friends and family to a business works to your advantage. And in this case it worked in ours, having two people we both know personally witness the incident and the damage.

Being this has happend to myself now twice, I can't imagine the countless others who have suffered damage and complete dismissal by the owner of this business who seems to forget, not all of his customers are helpless, not all of his customers don't understand the proper avenues to follow. Today was the wrong day to try and screw this customer.

I urge anyone that has trouble like this or any damages from Diamond Brite Car Wash LLC who have met with complete irresposibility on the part of the owner or any of it's employees to file formal complaints with the agencies listed below.

We are also seeking media attention. It's time we all helped put an end to "bad business" in Connecticut. I am personally sick an tired of having my property, my integrity and character trampled on by business owners who's bills I PAY!

Stay Away From Them

AUTHOR: sloc - (United States of America)

They burned through my car's clear coat trying to take out some scratches, and they aren't paying for the damages. It's going to cost $1500 to repaint the areas damaged. I'm still trying to get something from them.

Why did you go back a second time?

I am the former manager of this Car Wash and Detail Center, however I had a baby and was not working for the company at the time you had your dispute. First of all, I don't know which "owner" you spoke to because you didn't get a name, but there were two owners, and I'm sure you would have had better luck had you spoken to the current sole owner, Joe Albert. Let me just say, he is very fair, and if, in fact, your vehicle was damaged as a result of the car wash, he would go out of his way to rectify the situation. Also, if Joe had a mere penny for every time someone claimed that the car wash damaged their vehicle, he would be a millionaire. You would not believe the lengths that some people go to just to get a free wash or get their car fixed at Joe Albert's expense, or the former owner's, Carlo Zovich. My question to you is this: If you believed that your first car was damaged at the car wash, why on earth would you advise a friend to bring their vehicle there if the first situation wasn't rectified? Im no genius but it just seems like common sense to me that I personally would not go back to a place of business that had ruined my first vehicle, and a BMW at that. When I worked there, and now that Mr. Albert is the sole owner, customers are always treated with the upmost respect, and I have personally seen him do anything and everything he can to make a customer happy along with his wife, Wendy. Diamond Brite Car Wash was and still is voted, by customers, the best car wash in Connecticut. Instead of posting this nast rip off report, why not give Joe or Wendy a call and tell them what happened. You know the number.
