Complaint Review: diamond van line

diamond van line Diamond picked up my funiture just fine , They took everything apart and said it would be put back together on delivery, but when they got here they broke miltiple items and then left the funiture on the floor in all rooms not put together , I am a disable vet and cant life so everything is on the floor for 2 weeks now. The driver wrote on the contract the damaged items and the items that were not put together and he signed it. san diego California

we paid over 9k to move from ca to florida , adam dahan came to the house personal and told us he would take care of everything and the funtire would be disasmbled and reasmbled and if any problems call him. well they pick up the funiture just fine and took apart everything . when they got to florida the driver had to have money orders first or they move nothing in. as he was pulling and pulling on our brand new couch because all the funiture was cramd in the truck 12 feet high
he broke the back of the couch right in front of me and didnt bat an eye, mulitable items were damaged , but the biggist thing is tvs and beds and wall units that they took apart in california , That we paid for to be assembled , The drive left pieces in every room on the floor and refused to assemble them ( not even try) . I tried calling adam but zack answered the phone and woulden put the owner of the comapany on the phone , 3 calls were made to diamond van lines with no avile. [continued below]....
the driver on the contract didnt have a problem writing the damaged items and all the items he wouldnt put together and signed the contract stating this. a couple of days whent by and no call from the owner adam, so we contacted the bbb and filed a cliam. THEN we got an Email from adam posted here
Mr CitelliI received word from our driver and office during the day when you were getting delivered last week that there were some issues with reassembly of the entertainment piece. I immediately got on the phone with the driver and told him that he must put the item together, or if he was pressed for time, he must come up with an arrangement that would be suitable for your needs. I told him to do whatever it took to keep you happy, and only to find another arrangement if you agreed. A few moments later I got a call from him saying that he did leave due to his schedule and he assured me that he will call a local handyman to put the goods together within the next few days and that you were okay with this. I assumed he was telling the truth because I never heard from you again and you did not call my cell. IU received a letter from the BBB a few days ago , mentioning you were not okay with this arrangement. First off let me apologize , it seems the driver was lying upfront and after an argument with him today , he assured me he was not lying. I, of course. believe you whoever him. If you can give me your side of the story , this would be appreciate3d. I have recommended terminating this driver altogether, but wanted to see what your input was on everything. Did he not send a handyman after all? If this also was not done please let me know so we can do what we can to rectify the situation. I await your reply and apologize again. Adam
His anwswe to my stuff sitting on the floor is maybe teminate the driver? or did someone send a handyman? this was surpose to be assemble at delivery. and the driver and adams office new i wasnt happy because i called 3 times. so this is pretty much 100% lies. ALSO did i mention the driver also wrote down the broken items and items not put together
if any one has any questions about useing this comapny i say please please it was 800 dollars more to go with a name brand comapny. dont make the mistake i did to save 800 and in the end it cost me 3 times that for broken items and finding someone to put items together. Mr and Mrs Citelli,I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Unfortunately at this point I am unable to offer you any reimbursement on the matter as you immediately went to the BBB and put a complaint through. You did not even wait one business day for me to rectify this. I contacted you on Wednesday by email which is 3 business days after the delivery and asked if the driver was able to assist . At that point if I had heard that he did not I would have paid for the handyman pout of my pocket instead of relying on the driver to do it. I cannot imagine a handyman would cost $1000 to take care of the matter. I would have offered about $200 for this service. However you have chosen to use the BBB as a mediator and therefore will proceed with that option. I can assure you this would not be a quicker or more reasonable outcome, as I could have already paid for a handyman for this, but this is your choice. If you wish to go through legal matters I am prepared to deal with that as well. In addition your request of $1000 is being unreasonable.
email me if you have any questions about this company. I know a lot of movers arent good but at least assembling your stuff is something they do.
Please dont get scammed by the owner coming to your house and telling you what you want to hear. this just happen oct 2013 also the company left some pieces of someone else stuff here too, so that driver screwed someone else which i feel so bad about but dont know what to do. This could be you.
