Diamonds Internations Stated that it was easier to sell larger Tanzanite Stone. Use Christies or Yotheby's for auction starting at 3,000.00 Ketchikan Alaska

I was on the Holland-American-Oosterdam cruise to Alaska July 14 -21, 2013. They gave a presentation by Jennifer Beljan and Mark Jordan. Mark gave contact information of email address and his cell phone. He told us to call him when we received our original certificate on the stone we purchased.

I purhcased a Tanzanite bracelet in the Juneau, Alaska Diamonds International Store and left it with Jennifer to bring on board while we went on your excursion. I was to meet her on the ship at 6:30. When we went to her desk, her fiance, Mark was there with my purhcase. In conversation, it came up that I was looking for an investment not jewelry because I did not where jewelry. He informed me that loose stones were better for transacting than jewelry and told us to meet him in the Ketchakan Store the next day.

In Ketchakan, we upgraded to a 31 carat Tanzanite stone and left it there to go on our next excursion. When we returned they showed us a 91.3 carat Tanzanite stone that had the gemologist certification with it. We decided to buy it with a 30  day return guarantee by the company and a 60 day guarantee by the ship. Mark told me to use Christies or Sothebys autions to sell the stone and to have the beginning price at $3,000.00 a carat.

When I got back from my excursion, Mark, Vince, Esau informed me that the stone I bought belonged to the owner and was really not for sell but because the manager did not know and Mark did not know, they felt obligated to complete the sell to me at $750.00 a carat when it was suppose to be worth $950.00 a carat.

When I got to the mainland, I quickly looked up everything they told me, checked with gemologists in the area and jewlers online and they informed me that my stone was indeed high quality but that they did not handle stones like that on their autions. When I tried to contact Mark, none of this contact information was valid. I contacted Diamonds International within the 30 days and told them what had happened and I was told that I could get an instore credit or an exchange on my purchase. No refund possible even though they mis represented the information given.

I now have a $69,000 gem and at this point cannot sell it or return it.
