I am a former "employee" of DDM, Inc. (aka Difference Defined Milwaukee, Davis Direct Marketing, Quantum) a first warning STAY AWAY from this "company".

I responded to one of their many, many ads on Craigslist/Monster/Milwaukeejobs etc., and I realized going into this it may be a scam of sorts. I had no idea how correct I would actually be.

I went into my first round interview, where they ask you simple questions that do little but see if you can smile. Then I was called back the next day for the 2nd Round Interview, where I showed up on time and then was told i was going to be driving to an event outside of the office. This is obviously an odd thing to do on an interview, but I went down to Racine (40 mile drive) wasted a lot of gas as well, and stood outside of a Pick N' Save. Then I read some propaganda on the company, stood in front of the table and called people over to the table.

After that I sat down with one of the current employees where he laid out the hierarchy of the company. The most promising aspect of this was the pay scale where at Phase 1, where you come into the company, paid $350 to $450 a week SALARY (important). You work for 5 days a week and what they really don't mention is that you work from ~9am until ~8pm.

Without going farther into the scale this was the thing that made me say, alright this is a crap job... but I can actually pay my rent and get some debt out of the way. So then I have to drive back the office (another 40 miles) and then sit down and they ask me what I thought about the position.

I made it then to the 3rd round interview which is a full day on the job (unpaid), I came into the office into the Morning "Juice" Session. Which had blaring rap music, and everyone talking about work ONLY, and everything was "Juice" (i.e. We had a Juicy day yesterday, I hope I get a "juicy" location today). Then in walks the owner Julia Davis, a very attractive 24 year old woman who is as fake as the company she runs.

During this time, the higher ups Talk up the company, and tell you that those people working normal jobs are the ones who are sad poor individuals who deserve your pity. This is after looking around and realizing that everyone's cars are falling apart, no one looks like they eat well and who I'm sure make less money than those we are supposed to be pitying. This is all while making it seem like you will be rich and running your own office within an Office making $1000 a week minimum, within a year. Yet there are people who have been working as Field people for 2-3 years... but no questions should be asked about the validity of the company.

Then out in the field (Starbucks, Pick N' Saves, Gander Mountains and Sears), we set up a tattered table and banner that says we are working for the CPEA. However after asking a few questions

35% of the sale goes to the Person at the table.
~40% goes to the Managers/Owner/etc
~20% goes to the cost of the items
5% goes to the Charity

Also the banner I had one day said "Davis Direct Marketing", which is not the company I was working for "Difference Defined Milwaukee", when I asked about that I was told that it was something I shouldn't concern myself with.

Well after 2 weeks of doing the same ~11/12 hour days, I was expecting 2 paychecks totaling $700 before taxes. However when I received my checks, they were less than $150 COMBINED. Meaning that I made $1.30 an hour. This on top of spending well over the $150 in gas, and food in the 2 weeks working there. This is deplorable, and I am now officially deeper in debt.

In short, this is a crap semi-legal pyramid scheme. They force you to fund everything, and give you nothing in return. Avoid this company of sleaze.

The poster "Alison" is really Becky who runs this scam! You need to stop standing out side of Pick n Save, stealing from people. Please cross check the reports one of Beckys reports is #295866. This company has several complaints under different names.

#4 UPDATE Employee

I'm about to quit.

POSTED: Sunday, May 17, 2009

Don't be fooled. I work for DDM and I'm about to quit. I overhead the "manager" talking in her office and she definitely wrote that rip off report with the "unbelievable reference later" and all that complete b.s.

I'm quitting because all of these other reports are absolutely true. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people who work for these companies are good people. Unfortunately, they are IN A CULT. That's why I"m quitting. I didn't realize how brainwashed I was until I started to talk to my family. So, I don't blame these people for doing what they do, I blame the people who KNOW they are doing wrong and still perpetuate this ridiculous scam of a company...

Anyway, I'll be done with it all tomorrow.

Know that the managers of these companies read all these reports and they even bring them up in their meetings to laugh at them just so they can keep people brainwashed longer.

It's creepy.

DDMDavis Direct Marketing I had a GREAT experience These Reports are FALSE Brookfield Wisconsin

AUTHOR: Alison - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I worked for DDM for a few months and I just came across this website. Just wanted to let everyone know that these reports are FALSE. This company is great, all the people are wonderful and my experience landed me a job at a graphic design company.

I learned so much from this company including how to interact with people and how to over come challenges. We never got in some random car and went door to door...they always paid me...and Julia gave me an unbelievable reference letter to use at any future employer.

They probably have done a lot of interviewing just to make sure that the right candidates are coming in the door so unfortunately the candidates that don't work out have some issues with not being selected or not picking up on the marketing systems that they lay out in black and white.

I'm just glad I went with my gut and gave it a try becasue it has truely paid off for me. None of these people have any credibility just some anger issues so go in, check it out. If you're a smart individual that is what you would do anyway and you will then laugh at these rediculous "reports".

I did.

Completely Agree! Difference Defined Milwaukee is rediculous! Don't Waste Your Time!

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

Difference Defined Milwaukee is a completely unprofessional firm. It is not "event marketing" or "event based marketing" as they say. Rather, a group that stands outside of grocery stores trying to sell "child safety Kits" to passerbys. I went in for my first interview, and thought it was a little wierd that there were so many others there and that my interview only lasted about 10 minutes. They emailed me for a 2nd interview, so I drove to Brookfield, and then was told I was "going out to the field" with them. I was told to ride with two of the "field representatives", which again I thought was wierd, but I went with it, because I was excited to see what kind of event we would be working with. When we got to the Pick n Save, I was very suprised, but again, decided to keep an open mind. I ended up standing in my suit for a couple of hours, in the cold, trying to push these kits on people who didn't want them. When it was time for lunch, the "field Leader" took me to lunch to explain the company layout, at that time she asked if I wanted to continue the interview or if I felt this wasn't for me. At this point, with having a masters degree and years of experience, I was pretty sure this wasn't the company for me. When I told her that, I was told that was fine, and I could either call someone to come get me, or FIND A CAB TO TAKE ME TO MY CAR. I was flabbergasted! I had no one to pick me up, considering I live about an hour from Brookfield, so I had to choose the cab option. But, guess what? Cabs don't go to Brookfield unless you're going to the airport!!! So, I found a towncar service and had to pay $40 to get back to the Difference Defined Milwaukee Office. This is the most rediculous experience I have ever taken part in. Steer clear of this so called "company"!!! It's a waste of your time.

You have it absolutely correct! DDM, Davis Direct Marketing, Difference Defined Mke, Quantum, TOTAL SCAM and TOTAL CULT!

AUTHOR: Anon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 29, 2009

First off, the reason why "Difference Defined Milwaukee" has banners that read "Davis Direct Marketing" is because they used to be called "Davis Direct Marketing". Julia Davis changed the name (using a DBA) to Difference Defined Milwaukee after all the rip off reports and bad press her company received under Davis Direct Marketing. Just google Davis Direct Marketing if you haven't already.

This is a commonly used method to keep recruiting high for companies under the Quantum umbrella. When smart people actually research a company before they apply, they find all kinds of crap written about these kinds of companies and then don't come in for the interview. This is why the companies must keep changing their names. The owner relies on people to come in and sell their crappy products so that they can make money. And even if they DO manage to keep recruiting high, they still don't really make any money...so it's kind of a wash for the most part.

NOBODY running an office makes $1000 a week, not even Julia Davis. Especially not Julia Davis. She probably pays herself $300 a week and she's still working 75+ hours a week. Also, she's one of the most manipulative, lying, deceitful people I have ever met in my entire life. She lies to hundreds of people a year, day after day, just so she can keep that scam business running.

Eric
