I contacted Dionne ( Going by Dee Dee ) on Etsy on April 18, 2014 inquiring about a wodrpress design package. She answered all my questions and even sent me a coupon code for 25% off as an Easter special. I requested a full package so I could relaunch my online presence. I needed a logo, web design, and e-commerce capabilities.
Her portfolio looked like she had a style that could potentiallly match mine and her reviews were dominantly positive. I didn't even notice the negative ones. Out of 70+ feedbacks on Etsy the first ten or so looked good. I regret not looking through them all.
Her turn over time was appealing... 3-4 days for logo designs and revisions as well as 5-7 days for web designs. I had to contact her DAYS after her Turn around times.( she never got in touch with me first) I always gave her longer than she actually promised. I got a logo design to look at 9 days after my purchase ( not counting revision times that came after...) after weeks of back and forth and several suggestions that I may cancel the order, Dionne wouldn't even acknowledge that I would suggest calling it quits and she would respond with a promise of something to look at. I also regret that because she dragged out the time so that I missed the Etsy return policy period of 60 days. And pay pals of 45 days.
The design itself was rushed and sloppy. It was like she didn't even read the questionaire she sent me to fill out about what I wanted. I knew things were not going well and I was expecting my baby to be born in June so I just accepted her sloppy and obvious template ( not original looking at all ) design, so I could just be done with it. I had even sent her a mock up of what I wanted because she seemed so disconnected with what I had told her i wanted I thought I would do the work for her so i could get on with it.
Finally after minor revisons ( I asked for a a font change and a color change and name change because she used my married name instead of my maiden name) ... she asked for information so she could upload the website to wordpress. I swear to god.... I sent her a dozen messages with Login info and passwords. To no avail, she kept saying that I wasn't sending her what she needed.
It was after my child was born that I contacted her asking for a refund. She flatly said NO because she did the work. She also made the comment that she hadn't heard from me in weeks ( DUH, I had a baby. ALL of which she knew about ahead of time. And she had promised delivery of the product before he was due so I wouldn't have to deal with it with a newborn.) My problem was, well...If I can't get the work why do I have to pay for it? She insisted that all that was left was uploading.
I had already gone back and forth too many times with her about that so it was at that point I went to Esty, paypal, and even my bank looking for a resolution. My bank was told NO by Paypal because of the 45 day policy period. Etsy did an investigation and told me they could not give a refudn because of the 60 day policy but that they would suspend her shop from selling until she resolved the issue with me. They [ etsy] said she even refused to answer their inquiries!!
I never recieved any sort of PDF file of the logo...I never recieved any sort of HTML file so I could upload the website myself. I only got screen capture of the finished product as evidence that she did anything at all.
It is 7/26/14... This was supposed to be done back in May. Anyone who wants to read the 80+ messages back and forth between me and Dionne is welcome. Just reply and I will contact you. I am not hiding our interaction.
I wished Etsy would show sellers names and not just shop names so you can do research before sending out money. It wasn't until I got a paypal reciept that I actually knew who I was dealing with. Google turned up numerous complaints and alias shop names ( Junk studios , studio Chic design ).
I hate that it came to this.

I reported her new shop to etsy, letting them know the names of 4 previous accounts of hers that they banned in the past, and now see that her new UrbanCreativeStudio shop has been deleted. Thank you for posting your complaint. It is because of you that I knew her new shop name and could alert etsy.
To anyone who reads this, who is having similar troubles with this con-woman - make sure she gives you a date of completion that falls within the refund period, so that when she does not deliver, you can get a refund more easily. I finally got mine through my credit company after months of her game, because of this.
Best of luck!
