   If I had known about this website a yr ago when I first signed on with direct tv....I sure as h*ll would have never went with them as a provider.


lets start from the beginning of direct tvs deceptions and lies.


first when i signed up i distinctly asked how long my contract would be for.  I was told 12 months.  thats reasonable.  i was then told that i needed to provide them a $200 deposit bc my credit score was not that great.  I asked them when do i get the deposit back (of course as long as I have paid all of my bills) and was told for every month they will deduct $5 off of my bill.  now seeing as i was told i had a 12 month contract, i knew that the $200 that i gave them would not be paid in full by the end of the yr, so i asked them what happened then?  they told me that they would continue to take $5 off of each bill.  and what if i decided to leave direct tv i asked.  the rep then told me that a check for the remaining deposit would be sent to me.  ok so that sounded fair enough. 


but question for you all...would any of you in your right mind just give a company $200 for nothing...just to have their service?  Would you say ok, ill give you $200 and NO you never need to give it backk to me?


ok...now throughout the first few months i had many many problems with them.  One time i had a dipute about my bill...when i called up to fix it, i learned that i was infact in a 18 month contract, despite what the initial sales rep told me over the phone when i signed up.  so i asked to speak to a supervisor.  not one was available so they told me they would escalate it and someone would call me with in the week.  flash forward about 3 months later, still no call.  so i called again. why had no one called me?  they dont know.  but they see the note in their comp that says i requested a call.  so they put another request in...about 1 month has gone by and neither calls have been made to me still.


so now i am at my last straw and i call to find out info regarding the cancellation process.  $20 a month for every month i break my contract, which they say comes to $200.  but by my calculations that is more money than i should pay bc direct tv is a prorated billing cycle.  for now while i am discussing the cancellation fees, i put this info on the back burner for a minute while i inquire about my deposit.  i asked how much was left from my deposit that they had not put towards the $5 credits to my bills....$150.  that is a substanial amount of money...not chump change.  so i ask does this money go towards the cancellation fees.  and can you guess what they said?  of course you can....NO, NO, NO!!!!!  so then i asked were they going to send me a check?  NO IT IS NON REFUNDABLE they say.  really?  so i tell them about the 1st phone call.  oh we have no recored of the rep telling you this.  BS!!!  they sure do...their taped phone convos that i am not privy to of course. 


So i then look at the agreement and nowhere does it say that it is non refundable.  nowhere does it say that because they say so they can keep my money.  i tell the supervisor this and she so very snidely says, "NOWHERE DOES IT SAY WE HAVE TO GIVE IT BACK TO YOU EITHER AND WE WONT".  really?


now i am taping my converstions with direct tv...i let them know i am doing this of course, so that everytime i get a different answer it will just prove how they are lying, decietful people who take your money and run.  this will only help me for the class action lawsuit.  i have contacted some laywers who are currently in the process of a class action nationwide...not just an individual state...i suggest every person that has complained on here get on the band wagon...the more the merrier!  i have also written complaints to the FTC and Attorney General for NJ...everyone do the same!


How can you be held liable for a contract that you never signed to begin with?  How can they just take deposits that account for nothing (and when i asked for legal documentation showing me what the deposits are used for...when you have bad credit deposits are used to ensure that the company doesnt get screwed if you dont pay...and i pay...so how is this legal to keep my money bc you feel like it?).  Of course, the rep could find no legal binding documentation that tells me that I am not intitled to my money.  Not only that but when the rep read the agreement, he could find nothing stating that either and did say that nowhere in the agreement did it state non-refundable.


By consumer law you have to disclose any information truthfully that applies to the consumer...so direct tv...how are you NOT breaking the law?  you DO NOT disclose the fact that you charge out the wazoo for cancelling, you lie about the length of contract, and you DO NOT disclose the deposit procedures truthfully either!!!!


And funny thing...if I did cancel...they would OVERCHARGE me on the cancellation fees!


From now on, every convo will be recorded...i will post them on youtube...show them to my friends and family, they will be shown to lawyers, to anyone that will watch and listen.  ANYBODY FROM DIRECT TV THAT READS THIS....IF I DON'T GET MY MONEY BACK, I WILL TAKE YOU FOR WHATEVER I CAN GET.  LOOSE A NEW CUSTOMER AND MY WORD OF MOUTH WILL GURENTEE THAT ANYBODY I KNOW WILL NEVER HAVE DIRECT TV.  WHEN YOU GIVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, LIE, CHEAT, FREUDULENTLY TAKE MONEY THAT IS NOT YOURS, AND TREAT YOUR PAYING...YES THATS RIGHT-P A Y I N G CUSTOMERS LIKE CRAP....YOU WILL NO DOUBT GET HORRIBLE REVIEWS AND ONE DAY...IT WILL COME...YOU WILL NOT BE A COMPANY, BC EVERY DIME YOU STOLE AND LIED TO GET FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY BACK IN ALL OF THESE CLASS ACTIONS.


I DON'T REALLY CARE DIRECT TV EMPLOYEES ABOUT YOUR REBUTTLES EITHER, BC YOU ALL ARE DECIETFUL people and one day your day will come...when you are on the other end of a company screwing you over (and lets face it...you're reps...you are no better than me)...and one day (if it hasnt happened already) it will and I will feel pity for you, but what goes around comes around.


everyone...if you want to see an end to direct tv...DO YOUR PART!  comaplain to all avenues, contact lawyers to find out about the class action...IT IS TIME TO END THE DIRECT TV GAMES!

These are the 2 law firms that I know of that are filing class actions.  Contact them if you have had DTV lie, cheat, and deceit you as well.  If we band together there's is no way they can continue to get away with the fraud that they commit!
