I have been calling around attempting to get this satellite removed from my back deck. I am a new resident and prior owners/renters had the service and I do not plan to use the service at all.
When calling Directv, I was told that I had to remove it or get an Authorized Dealer to remove it because they don't handle installation or removal of equipment.
After been given a name of an "Authorized Dealer" I have learned as the new resident I would be responsible for paying to have this equipment (that does not belong to me) removed because the satellite is tacky on my deck and I want it removed.
I don't understand why a non-subscriber would have to pay to have equipment that belongs to the company or authorized dealer to be removed when in fact Directv or someone should have record of who had services at the residence and who installed the services at the residence which the Directv Representative claimed they did not have.

It's not my equipment and it's not my responsibility and it is a rip off for their authorized dealer to charge to remove their equipment.
