I have had billing issues 2 months in a row with being over charged. I've called in each time, and each time I get a different call center person that cannot help me. I don't think these people are trained very well, if at all. My issue has been this; I cancelled service at one point, and was informed on by DirecTV to call in for a special reconnection offer. I called in a got to a rep, and they offered me promo rates to cut my bill to $41 plus tax a month. Hey great deal right?? So i signed back up... well big mistake on my part. The next day i wasn't receiving channels in my package, so I called in. They informed me that i wasn't credited with the promo channels/rates, so my bill was $59 plus tax.
I said that was wrong and the reconnection offer got me down to $41 plus tax... They couldn't do any thing about that because it wasn't possible in their systems to apply such discounts. The only explanation for this would be that the initial person lied to me about the pricing and got me to sign back up. Very shady. I called in the next day to get to a supervisor about this, and they transferred me to another regional supervisor. She was very nice, and finally got my bill down to $44 plus tax. After 8+ hours on the phone total between the days, i thought that was good enough and the fight was over.
Back to normal.... or so i thought. I just got my bill this month, and it's $127 plus tax. What is going on? I called in again, and they said the promo rates aren't applied and that I was now being charged $48 for hbo, showtime, etc., 59.99 for the package, and $25 for advanced receiver fee, along with another $7 random fee. That equals $140, and minus $13 for existing discounts still in place. (Thankfully). The rep stated I would be refunded the $48 for movie channels, and that she would need to escalate the other promo discounts issue to the financial team. She said it take 10 business days to resolve. 2 weeks on a single customer billing issue?
Yea that's outrageous, and probably a lie. I will call back in tomorrow to waste more of my time that i don't have to try and correct the issue. I know this is a long complaint, but it really has become such a hassle to deal with DirecTV. Every rep I talk to tells me something different, and I just can't get this billing issue corrected. These people keep lying about their prices and promo offers on my account. (FYI: I would have already cancelled if i didn't have to pay the cancellation fee on the account now.) If there is anyone out there who can help me get the right people or tell them the right way to resolve this issue, I'd be very thankful.
