when i first signed up with dish they have said i will be charged$200 for early cancelation, today the 23rd of October when i called them and asked them to cancel my account because my apartments don't allow dish satellite dish has said they needed four hundred dollars, like that wasn't even the agreement and i don't understand why they don't tell people about all there fees. don't think anyone would want to sign up for dish if they knew all about the fees.

liya, Since we were able to establish a line of sight for your signal at your original home, we do need to hold you to the terms of agreement in the contract even if you change your residence.  When you signed your contract did you read it? Your contract legnth is 2 years. If you had to resign your contract by say getting another reciever box then you would be bound by the terms and conditions of the new contract as the old contract wouldnt be in effect. EVERYONE has Early Termination Fees. From your cellphone provider to your cable companies. Businesses got tired of getting screwed by the American consumer. The consumer has lied cheated and stolen all shreds of compassion from them. So when we have to deal with situations like this, its really only our own fault.

And to be fair to both sides. When you had them install thier equiptment did you read EVERYTHING that they asked you to sign? If you had, you would have seen that there are a variety of fees.

Your solution might be easier then you think. You apt complex may not allow satellite dishes attached to the building. In that case you need to ask them if you can mount it on a tripod and put it on your porch. This tends to be the way most complexes allow you to get cable TV without attaching it to a roof.
