I signed up for Dish television service with the understanding that they would transfer service to my new home if I moved.

They were unable to provide me service at my new residence.

They are stealing over $50 a month from me because they refuse to cancel the contract that THEY WILL NOT FULFILL.

They are providing me NO SERVICE, but still taking my money and refusing to do the honorable thing of canceling the contract.

 

DO NOT EVER USE DISH.

It is NOT Dish's fault you moved to a location where they can't get a signal.  The pro-rated early termination fee is for the previous location on the two year contract YOU signed.  It was to pay for the previous install and equipment.  You DID read your contract, dildn't you?  I would guess that would be not...you STILL haven't.  Contracts are not meant to be "Cancelled", that's why they're called contracts. Gotta love people that haven't a clue what they agree to.

Report this "theft" to your states attorney general, the FTC and the BBB, IF it's true they are thieves under terms of law.

 

You weren't ripped off.

No, I DON'T work for Dish, but use their service and find it more than satisfactory.

 How is it "Honorable" for them to allow you out of a contract signed in good faith. YOU chose to move. No where in the contract does it state that they have to let you out of your contract IF YOU MOVE TO AN AREA THAT DISH DOESNT SERVICE!!!!! You speak as if you have an idea as to what REAL honor is. REAL honor would have you paying what you agreed to WITHOUT complaining. If this was YOUR company and you had everyone CRYING about their contract at some point YOU would get tired of loosing money because THE CUSTOMER is the one screwing up. Dish IS doing the "Honorable" thing. They are holding you to the terms and conditions that YOU agreed to and nothing more. Stop being a self entitled little twit because it really doesnt look good on you. YOU CHOSE TO MOVE. YOU CHOSE TO MAVE TO SOMEPLACE DISH COULDNT FULFILL THE EXISTING CONTRACT!!! None of that is Dishs fault and youre just whining because YOU made the choice to move and they are NOT letting you out of the contract. YOU went with what YOU could afford and took ZERO consideration as to if DISH could give you service. Act in haste a repent at YOUR leisure.

If DISH had ANY part of being the reason you had to move then you could claim it would be honorable for them to let you out of the contract. But since they had ZERO influence over YOUR choice to move then you will continue to pay until your contract is up.
