A random day in January an unsolicited bald headed, older gentleman comes over for an annual "inspection." I asked who sent him over and he said the insurance company. When we moved in a few years ago, we did have an inspection, but it was not by these guys. A little confused, I signed a "consent to inspect" form that basically said that they were not there to burglarize us - which was strange since I never signed a form like that in the past.

Red flags were raised and I should have given him the boot right then and there, but he looked the part and had official looking forms. After 5mins of "inspection" he came back and said that everything was good and no maintanence needed to be done. He had me sign one more form and I reiterated with him that no service was to be done and we were not to be charged. He confirmed and left. Lo and behold, a month later we receive an invoice with the blank lines filled out with amounts equalling $300. SHADY! Lesson learned. Beware of any unsolicilated individuals entering your premises!
