District Fire & Safety, Eva Valdez Unapproved Inspection and Billing Pico Rivera California

Fraudulent and unauthorized "inspection" of fire and safety equipment. "Inspectors" came to office saying our management had an inspection authorized for our fire and safety equipment. He dropped my name in particular but my name was also on a card at the front of the office. Our secretary allowed them to tour our facility which took all of 5 minutes. Staff watched them as they simply walked down the hallway and did not check any rooms. Our secretary thought they were from our HOA.

We followed up with our HOA only to find out these were not invited insepctors. We got a confirmation around 10 days later when we received a bill for $412.28 for the "inspection." Allegedly, they reviewed our panic hardware, smoke detectors, fire alarm, and fire sprinklers. However, they clearly didn't even do what they said they were here to do.

Along with the invoice was attached the W9 of sole proprietor, Eva Valdez, at PO Box 61, Pico Rivera, 90660. She has a EIN listed but is marked as a sole proprietor. The address has also changed to to the PO Box instead of the complaint address listed on the BBB.

I did call the (213)422-5238 number listed on the invoice and spoke with someone to complain. He said he would send a proof of the voided charge. This bill goes to ATTN: Accounts Receivables. I'm sure some people completely miss this and it's very unfortunate.
