It was a 10 day trial, and I when I tried to Cancel it, could not find any cancel buttons or links. After several minutes, I gave up, and never thought of it again. Until I saw 2 paypal charges 3 months later for $49 each!! On my Paypal it indicated I could contact email@example.com. I chose to deal with Paypal directly, and they got a refund.
Never-the-less, this is a clearly an illegal case of fraud. I can still log in to my www.domaintools.com account today, and it still says "Membership Price: FREE" and there is still no discernible way to cancel my membership. Yet every 18th of the month since joining, I get billed $49!
Google searches indicate this is a scam. In fact, that is how I found Ripoff Report. [continued below]....
It is easy to imagine people not checking their Paypal account (or Credit Card) records and having hundreds or even thousands of dollars withdrawn without them realizing it. (You need a credit card or Paypal for a Trial Membership.) With thousands of people attracted to a Trial Membership, I am sure this scam is raking in tens of thousands if not millions.
www.domaintools.com contact info is in Seattle, Washington, and www.nameintel.com is in Los Angeles, California.
