Dominion Law Associates Debt collecting on a made up debt Virginia Beach Virginia

I received a number of voice mails from a Pender & Coward, claiming I had an important business call with them. I have no business with a law firm so I did not call until their last message on July 23, 2006. I called 800-989-0009 on July 25, 2006.

When I called, I found out that a credit card company claimed that I owe money. I said that I have not received a letter from Dominion Law Associates with an account number and that I do not owe a credit card company or have any outstanding debts. The woman claimed that I received a letter and that she does not have to give me any information.

She promptly hung up the phone on me. The next day I received a letter from Dominion Law Associates stating that the creditor is Midland Funding Ncc-2 Cor and that I owe $708.26.

I have no outstanding debts to any company.

I called on July 23, 2006 and spoke to a person who was more reasonable after I mentioned the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He quickly found that I was not the person that they were after once I gave my social security number to him. He claimed that the account would be cancelled and that I would not hear back from them again.

They mailed a letter to me on August 23, 2006 stating that Midland would accept 50% of the payment. They will not get 1 cent from me.
