I have been in contact with Dominion VA Power's so called "Customer Support" now for over a week to cancel a one-time payment that I made. I did not have enough in my account to cover it, so it keeps overdrafting my account, and then they charge me an Overdraft/Insufficient Funds Penalty when it tries to go through.

The representative, stretching that word as far as it will stretch, informed me that she would cancel the payment for me as soon as it was no longer Pending, but my account Rejected the charge when it was no longer Pending, and charged me a penalty.

Okay, so I got the penalty charge lifted from my account, and then 2 days later Dominion tries to charge my account AGAIN, despite claiming that it was cancelled, and now I am overdrafted AGAIN, and going to be penalized AGAIN....This is RETARDED!! Of course, it is too early to call either of them to figure out what is going on, but I want this charge CANCELLED FOREVER truly!!I thought it was supposed to be illegal in America to be a MONOPOLY, but Dominion seems to be immune to the law somehow, and it is making me feel like I need to get away from Virginia to be free of this predatory company!!

Typical sub-prime entitlement mentality

You submit an ACH transaction, YOU don't have enough money to cover it and then all of the sudden the company is an "evil predatory monopoly".

Well I have some news for you, it doesn't matter what bank you are talking about, it doesn't matter what company you are talking about. The way ACH transactions are processed there is a point of no return where it can't cancelled.  The time to decide if you have enough money to cover a payment is BEFORE you submit it.

What you have done here is basically admit that YOU knowingly broke the law by submitting an ACH when you did not have enough money to cover it. This is just about the same thing as if you had hand written a check to a cashier you knew would bounce. As a result they actually would legally have grounds to turn you over to the local District Attorney for prosecution for check fraud. Now, will they do that...most likely no. As they have other remedies, which by the way you agreed to when you opened the accounts. These remedites include them charging you Returned Check/ACH fees and/or overdraft fees, as well as resubmitting of the ACH/check.

Now, you of course are going to come up with 1001 excuese as to why you should be a "special case" and not be subject to the same penalties as they apply to everyone else. You of course will not think you did anything wrong...correction you may admit you did something wrong but your "excuses" you come up with are what you are going to try and use to justify why you should not be held responsible.

I haven't even touched on the fact that by you wanting them to stop the ACH you are basically trying to "stiff" the Power company from a payment you said you were making. If anything in this report, this is just one more aspect of you trying to Rip them off.

Who knows when you call them up you may find an agent who will buy your excuse and credit you the fees and if you do get one, then you can congratulate yourself in being able to pull one over on everyone.

BUT if they actually hold you to the agreements and not give you any sort of credit just be lucky that you are not getting a call from the DA to come and explain your actions.
