I had a FUE transplant by Dr. William Yates or so I thought on 01/03/17.  I arrived at the office driving from Indianapolis at 8:30.  Waited untill about 10;30 for Dr, Yates to see me in the procedure room.  After a very short exame and very little conversation he marked my scalp and left the room saying nothing.

Next one of the "medical assistants" not Ceriified, LPN or RN shaved the back of my head very harshly and painfully where hairs graphs were to be taken.  Waited some more then the assistant dyed my donor sites.  Dr. Yates came in, said nothing to me and proceded to plug the top and back of my head, for the graphs and donor site, he first administered pain medication by injectiong my scalp.  He then left without speaking again.  Dr. Yates was only in the procedure room for an estimated 15 minutes for his part of the procedure.

Next, one of the assistants pulled the graphs from the donor area and another cleaned and seperated them, afterwards stating that there were 2,050 graphs?

Next, two of the assistants, one on each side of the scalp started to insert the graphs.  I was suprised because I was led to believe by his RN assistant that runs the office that he was doing the procedure not non-qualified assistants.  I could not feel anything on the left, but the assistanted on the right was causing me a grat deal of pain, this was suppose to be painless. The assistant then tried to inject a numbing agent into my scalp multiple times without success, I was still in a lot of pain. Another assistant then came in and gave me an (IM) intra muscular injection in the arm for pain.  I do not know if she had asked Dr. Yates for permission or not and I had no idea that assistants could give IM shots, I am a licensed nurse in Indiana and they cannot here.  I feel that the assistant on my right side was unqualified to do this procedure.  She then stated that she was inserting some of the graphs on the left side because of the pain on the right.  They both had the same amount of graphs to insert, so I assume I will have more graphs on the left than the right.

I do not think that I received the 2,000 graphs based on the evidence of no or very few red/black small scabs that appeared the next day. And how fast the graphs were inserted, supposedly 2,000 in 3,5 hours, that 4.7 graphs per minute. Pictures on the internet show people with 2,000 graphs that look like a the entire scalp has red/black scabs, I had very few especially in an area that I specificaly showed Dr. Yates prior to the procedure.  I thing I got half arounf 1,000.00  I think I was a classic (bait and switch) on the amount of graphs.

After what seemed like an enternity the assistant on the right said that she had about another 100 graphs and that Dr. Yates would come in and set the last 50 graphs.  I assume to cover the mistakes of the assistants.  Tht never happened, Dr. Yates never came into the procedure romm to check the progres of the graphs or after the procedure to make sure the assistants had done their job correctly, never!

When it was finally over I was getting ready to leave standing next to the door when Dr. Yates walked by, only then did he stop and come into the room.  He asked me to lower my head so that he could see, which is a joke, my head was covered with blood an you cannot see the graphed area without a very bright light and magnifiying glasses, what a joke this guy is.

Dr. Yates is an arogant rip off, his whole staff from the salesman, RN office manager, to Dr. Yates mislead and lied to me about this entire procedure.  Stay as far away from this guy as possible.  I spent a lot of money for what I thought was going to be a professional job and was duped.

POSTED: Saturday, February 18, 2017

Hello BeenHad,

When the surgery was performed there were no errors. There were also no complaints from you on the day of or after the surgery. It was only after a period of time that this was addressed. We do not have any employee that is not qualified to do the work they are asked to do. We also do not cut corners or break any law to facilitate a faster procedure time. Can you please send us some photos of the results to info@dryateshairscience.com? Can you also contact us so that we can discuss this outside of public forums? We'd like to help and make sure you are satisfied with the procedure.

Best regards,

Dr. Yates Hair Science
