REGARDING 82nd Ave lot of DREAM CITY. STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY!

I needed a car, being a single mom who has a job that REQUIRED driving. They insisted on a car that had check engine light on. I hesitated and drove three others. All with check engine lights on. I had been car shopping and getting the run around all day all over town and knew if I didn't have a car by Monday I would face losing my job. They assured me upside down and sideways till they were blue in the face that they would fix the problem and that they would ensure it would pass DEQ which meant whatever caused the light to be on HAD to be fixed. So, exhausted (and stupidly gullible apparently) I agreed to buy the guy. I could afford the payment and the down payment and provided it was mechanically sound I was happy and would stay employed - vital thing for a single mom! I couldn't afford big mechanical repairs. And they assured me there wouldn't be any, it was just a small issue with the oxygen sensor and they would fix it. When I left the lot the check engine light was off, and the car was running smoother. But I never got to go to DEQ the next day - the light came back on. I called them and they assured me they would fix it. When I came back to pick it up they said NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. Not only that but they had taken it to DEQ themselves and I was expected to pay the DEQ fee. The check engine light was off and the "mechanic" came and told me himself there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. AND like magic $1,000 was taken off my purchase price because of some issue with the bank. Cool. Great. I pay the DEQ fee, sign the papers for the new amount, and leave. 20 blocks away the light came back on. I call them only to get told the guy who I had been dealing with was not there but they'd be SURE to have him call me back (lots of snickers and repeating everything I was saying so someone beside them knew who was calling and what was going on, so obviously he expected and was avoiding my call). He never called back. At this point I was pretty positive they found the real issue with the car, knocked off a chunk of the price to make up for it and cleared the check engine code and went straight to DEQ so it would pass and be off their hands. I had to wait till tax return time - knowing that I was potentially dealing with a serious issue since they had gone to such sneaky ways to get me and this car out of their hair. Car soon started overheating in stop and go traffic just in time for that return to come in.

Well, $1800 later I have done an oil change, tune up, replaced every filter in the car and a thermostat, and fixed (drum roll please) A BLOWN HEAD GASKET!!!! AND I'm not done. I still have to take it back to get a new catalytic converter which will be another $900!!!! Lets add the $300 I had to pay for a rental while my car was in the shop for a full week - just so I could keep my job and continue driving while I paid for my new car to get running again. Mechanic said the car was covered in slime inside the engine and there was coolant in everything and it had obviously been this way for a long long time. He said there was no way the dealer did not know about it, especially after having me return it that second time and denying anything was wrong. I am absolutely livid. These people are nothing but scam artists. The lowest of the low. They took advantage, lied, manipulated, and not only denied but covered up the truth about this car. They should be ashamed of themselves. The $3000 that will go into repairing this car is money I should have been able to use for my family. My home. My kids. My LIFE. I hope their conscience kills them, but I'm sure it doesn't. DON'T let you and your family be scammed by these people!

Soon as I can, I am buying new license plate frames so I can rip of the ones advertising for Dream City and will roast marshmallows over them because I wouldn't give these creeps any positive publicity if you PAID me $3000! SCAMMERS. LIARS. SCUM OF THE SALES WORLD! NEVER AGAIN!

YOU Chose...

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 21, 2014

You knew enough to be concerned about the check engine light being on.  Yet YOU chose to buy a problem car.   Additionally, YOU chose to buy a car with problems YOU knew about on an "AS IS" basis, meaning no warranty.  Should the car have been free of obvious problems?  Of course.  Should the person have kept their word?

Certainly, no question.  But YOU chose to buy the car in THIS condition.  If there is no written policy or written promise they will fix the problem, then you bought a car "AS IS" and "WHERE IS".  If the paperwork said you were buying a problem free car, then they committed fraud.  If not...they didn't...because you bought it "AS IS" with any and all problems.

Buying From A Used Car Dealership is HIGHWAY ROBBERY

AUTHOR: V.T. - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 20, 2014

I live in Fort Worth, TX. However, I have lived in several states. I have seen the same thing in every state. Used Car Companies go to Auctions and buy these cars for $1,000 to $2,000 and if the car will crank as soon as they get it to the lot they will throw water on it, wax the tires, vacuum it out, and put a "AS IS" sign on it and list it on craigslist to sell. They have NO IDEA what's wrong with the car.

This also shows how times have changed. Back in the day no one would have EVER financed a car with the engine light on. EVER. It should be illegal. However people are desperate and they do this. I had a used car dealership in Dallas try to sell me a car they had just brought in from the auction and the engine light was on. The white guy was honest with me and told me "ma'am, I'm not sure what's wrong with the car"? Yet they wanted me to put $800.00 down on the car and finance it for THREE YEARS. The truth is I knew the most likely paid $800.00 FOR THE CAR!

And so many people do this. WHAT ON EARTH?

Of course I turned him down and bought a used car paid for with CASH off of craigslist. Shop craigslist. When people are selling their cars, you can bargain with them. But be mindful if someone has a decent car they are looking to quickly sell you are competing against the used car dealers who call them as well and buy their car off of them and then take it to their lots, demand $1,000.00 down or $500.00 down and put them on payments for three or four years.

It's nothing but a hustle. And there are many of them out there. Capitalism in America has become nothing but one big SCAM.
