Drivetime sold me a piece of crap after a year of having the carI found myself with over a thousand dollars worth of work needed to be done to the car I took it to one of their mechanics they advised me that pieces on the car patched up with electrical tape it needed to be repaired needed timing cover gasket  these are things that should have been repaired before selling the car in my opinion I think they patch it up so the car so it could pass inspection so they could sell it they claim they do a rigorous inspection and looks like they do a one point inspection and the point is to SELL SELL SELLthese are the things that I have to do to correct my car heater hose housing unit smoked test the car was saying it had a leak did a smoke test no leak bought 3 gas caps and also have NVLD done and they tell me this is normal wear and tear on a car WOW!!!!! 95% OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sounds like you aren't ready to own a vehicle

It doesn't really matter where you buy your vehicle, the person that owns the vehicle is responsible for the maintenance of the vehicle. If you choose to go to a subprime dealer because you don't have the money to buy your car for cash and you can't get financing from a regular lender, then that's your decision. The decision to purchase it from DriveTime has nothing to do with vehicle maintenance.

If you have a written warranty for the maintenance, then what does your warranty say about the repairs your car needs? If you don't have a warranty that covers the specific issues that need fixing, then it is up to you to fix it at your expense. That is part and parcel of owning a car! If you don't have the money to fix your car, then don't buy one.

I've owned many vehicles for well over 30 years and I have found that if I want the vehicle to run well, I make sure it follows the prescribed maintenance schedule published by the manufacturer. It has nothing to do with the dealer. You can't blame the dealer that sold you the car for your lack of maintenance.

If you are relying on the dealership to maintain your vehicle at their expense, your thought process is misguided. When you buy a car or other vehicle, the owner is the one (that's you) that is reponsible for all maintenance except for the specific items that you may have covered under a written warranty. If you remember that, you won't have future issues. No, I don't work for any dealership at all.

One continuous run-on sentence.  No punctuation.  No capitalization.  Perhaps you should be paying attention in class to your second grade teacher rather than worrying about a car!  I'm impressed!
