I attended a Sky Group Vacation Club sales presentation in Plainview, NY and as a reward for listening to a 90 minute sales presentation I was given two vouchers, one for a 7 day cruise for two and one for roundtrip airfare for two. The vouchers state that the only cost involved would be for the activation fees and taxes and surcharges, etc. For the cruise for two the activation fee was $98 and the taxes, fuel charges and security fees were estimated at $179-$288 each. The activation fee for the airline tickets was $70 for two and the other charges were extimated at $50-$65 per person.

I mailed the paperwork and the two checks for the activation fees to Dynamic Premium Incentives, Box 6308, Woodbridge, VA. I see from other complaints that other company names and other PO box numbers have also been used by this group. I subsequently received more paperwork which appeared to relate to the airfare only, now making the original deal much more restricted i.e. you could only leave on a Tuesday! They offered as an alternative a buy one-get one free option.

When I opted for the less restrictive BOGO I then received more paperwork relating to the cruise which was now also presented on a buy one-get one free basis. When I called the company, at first I couldn't get any one to answer. I had to leave several messages before getting a call back from someone. The first person I spoke with had no explanation for why the cruise brochure was now a BOGO and said I would have to speak to a supervisor.

After leaving several other messages, I finally got a call from a supervisor who told me that the $288 max cost person originally mentioned was only for the taxes, not the other costs and when I asked him to tell me what the actual cost would be he said at least $55 per person per day. I was so disgusted with the whole scam at that point that I requested my money back. The supervisor then hung up on me.  I am also planning to register a complaint with the Virginia Attorney General.
